I contracted with them to fill about 6 cracks in my driveway and then reseal the entire 300' driveway. The day after they did it, the fill they put in the cracks "sunk", or contracted, and basically left the cracks unfilled. I called them immediately the very next day and reported it. They said they would be out in the next "couple of weeks" to re-do it. This was on July 16, 2011. After not hearing from them for about 3 weeks, I called and left numerous messages on the cell phone of the saleman/estimator (Todd) who sold me the job, as well as leaving verbal messages with their answering service. Never got a single reply. Finally in early September, after exhausting all attempts to contact them and still never getting a call back from them, I contracted someone new to come out and do the job right, and paid to have it done (again). Then one evening I came home around September 20, Huysers truck was in my driveway. They sent 2 young men out to fix the cracks finally, but they could see it had already been fixed. I talked with them and explained how I had tried to contact their company for almost 8 weeks, but no one returned my call. They responded that it has been really crazy, and that the salesman/estimator had been under alot of pressure and that he was very busy. I asked them to please have someone call me so I could straighten out the remainder of the bill. No one called again. About two weeks later I got a "Final Notice" bill in the mail. I was then able to contact Todd, and told him how unhappy I was and that I had to pay dearly to have someone else finish the job, and that I had waited 8 weeks and no one ever called me, and Fall weather was coming so I had to get it done. I didn't think it was fair to have to pay for the "Crack Filling" part of their invoice. He went back and forth with his owner and they ended up offering me a measley $65.00 discount on my bill after I paid someone else $300.00 to get it done right. I called and left messages for the owner of Huyser, and he never ever returned my calls. Instead they send me a "Final Demand" for their money and wrote on the invoice that if I didn't pay immediately they would file a LIEN against my property, and wrote my property parcel on the invoice showing they weren't messing around. I called Todd one last time and expressed my dissatisfaction, but said I would pay the bill because I didn't want the hassle of fighting a LIEN against my property. This was the worst case of customer service I have ever seen !! To leave me hanging for 8 weeks, never ever return one of my 10 phone calls, then to place a lien on me for a job they never even completed is terrible. I cant believe they are even still in business. I would never recommend them to anyone. Its a shame.

I have used Huyser on many projects.  I have always found them to be honest and do good work.  Perhaps your complaint has more to do with unreasonable expectations.  When a crack is filled, it basically seals it from water being introduced.  It does not necessarily have to be level at the top to be correctly filled.

I don't have any first hand information regarding your complaint, only the info you provided.  I am writing this becasue I am concerned that you may be unnecessarily discrediting thier business.  Again, I have used Huyser many times and have always been satisfied.
