Icon Of Canada, SL 720 recumbent not repairable Ripoff St Jerome, QC Quebec
NordicTrack SL 720 Bought this machine about 2 months ago and really liked it until it broke. The ratchet mechanism that lets the pedals freewheel stopped working and the pedals just slip now cant do anything.
Sears sent a repairman out who ascertained the problem and left saying he would be be back with the required parts, but Sears just phoned today to say that the manufacturer is "not repairing this machine" at this time and parts are not available.
I give full credit to Sears and it appears that we will get a refund (i hope!) but a big fat "ZERO" to NordicTrack.
This machine is obviously poorly engineered and should never have been put into production. I would not think it would be such a big deal either to produce and supply a freewheeling mechanism that WORKED with the old machine!
