I sign up for security service 3 year ago. The system has never worked properly. I had made up my mind to change services in 2011. I fell in 2010 and the alert button did not work, fortunately my daughter stopped by and helped me 2 hour's later. When I complained I was told I would get a new alert button. My alarm system goes off and is not reported to police. I give the nieghbor my key to turn it off when I am gone. My alarm goes off in the middle of the night, I am not always able to shut it off. When I call the service number the employee said it's the weather, and there is nothing she can do to help me. In my nieghborhood no one else had a problem. In January a employee called me saying he had bought the company, that he Knew of the problems I had in the past. He said he would repair my system and replace my alert button, He also stated he would lower my monthly expense $9.00 and credit my account for one month's service. He sounded sincere and willing to fix the problem. I decided to go with him only because he also said everything would be done right away. At the time I had company from out of town so I asked him if he could send the tech. out the following week. He said of course. I waited to hear back from him for six weeks. When I called and told him I wanted to cancell because he did not fulfill his end of the deal, he said the order for the repair went to the tech's junk mail. I asked about the alert button he said he had mailed it, I asked him if he had a tracking number. He said no! I told him I did not believe him. I have written two letter's of cancellation and sent check's for the remainer of my first agreement. Both have been returned to me, I cancelled the monthly payment from my checking account with the Bank. Icon continued to try to get money from my account. I reported them to the Fraud dept. of my Bank. Again they tried. I called and told them I cancelled the service and I sent them a check for the remainder of the contract,
The employee was rude threatening me with lawsuit, ruining my credit, and putting a lien on my home. I told him I don't really care what you intend to do I will deal with it later right now I do not want to do business with you. I have a right to feel safe in my home and also when I leave, that is the idea of your service. I do not feel safe with you company. The employee stated I must live in a fantasy world. I had another security service come out, but they cannot put in thier equipment because ICON refuses to release me. This company has given me 3 years of non service. They have taken my money and tried to get more, thier employee's are rude, unprofessional and very good liar's.
