ild teleservices liberty online unauthorized charges to phone bill deceptive company Internet
Unauthorized charges appeared on my telephone bill. I contacted the company, ILD Enterprises, spoke with a customer representative, and complained about the unauthorized charges.
He said that I had used a four digit passcode (my birthdate!) to authorize a monthly charge of $30.85 to my phone bill for Internet Yellow Page services.
I never authorize ANYTHING over the phone. I hate telemarketers, if indeed they even DID call. I cancelled whatever charges they had already racked up on my phone bill and received an authorization code for the cancellation.
I then called my phone company and had the charges removed and added a service (for free) called a 'cramming charge block'.
I will now report the company to my local governmental agency (the name of which was provided me by my phone company--it varies state to state). In Maryland it is the Maryland Public Service Commission.
