Independent Wireless Services ripoff Atlanta Georgia
I was contacted via monster.com mass mailing with an offer to work from home performing tech support for a new cellular phone service. After applying and receiving an offer letter from the company I found that to do this I had to pay $140.00 for equipment and to be setup in their system.
I paid using PayPal and then never heard anything from the company. After several weeks and several phone calls (none answered, just voice mail), I received an email acknowledging my paid status and that it would take 2-3 weeks for my materials and equipment to arrive.
I have yet to see ANY materials or equipment and as I write this I am one of 6 folks who were emailed to join an online training session sponsored by the company and hosted by a Shantee Williams, a host who never showed. Three of us are hanging on, now an hour and a half later.
I have had very little luck in getting anyone to answer phone calls and direct emails were never really answered with anything but a form message.
I am beginning to doubt that any of these people exist. I am interested in the job as it was described, but I am losing faith fast. I will be contacting PayPal tomorrow to find out how they handle cases where goods and services are not provided by one of their members, in this case IWS.
