Innovative Publishing $8 Per Envelope Employee Alice sticks up for FRAUD COMPANY CONSUMER DECLARES COMPANY A SCAM work at home scam Los Angeles Cali
I answered an ad from Innovative Publishing for $8/ per envelope just to be curious.Before I sent any money to them I inquired about them with the Better Business Bureau.After what I found out, I thank God I didn't send them anything.I have copy and pasted a portion of the report below. We rate this company as having an unsatisfactory business performance record based on the company's advertising that we believe is both deceptive and misleading.
Most complainants allege non-delivery of the work at home kit after sending required fees to the company. One customer states the company's advertising leads consumers to believe that they will be paid $8.00 per envelope they stuff; however, after receiving the materials the customer states the money does not come from the company. The customer claims the only way to get paid is if the person you send the letter to sends back $8.00 for the information received.
The company responds to complaints by issuing full refunds, delivering the packages, or stating they have no record of the customer in their database and the customer did not place an order.
On 8/16/04 we requested that the company provide us basic background business information and to provide substantiation of earnings claims. Specifically, we asked the company to verify that by stuffing envelopes a participant could earn $8 per unit.
The company responded to our request for substantiation of their advertising claim by informing us that they publish " self-help business assistance " books and have designed a third-party independent contractor commission mailing program or business opportunity for respondents to assist them in marketing their books. The company did not provide any evidence to support their earnings claims made in their advertising. Also, the company's own description of their offer as a business opportunity is inconsistent with employment as it advertised.
We caution against sending money to this company. Most of these offers are found in the help wanted sections of newspapers and other publications. In fact, these companies are not really looking to hire anyone. Their actual business is running deceptive advertising which is designed to entice the public to send fees to get started.

It has been reported, when there are thousands of complaints and other investigations underway by authorities, the BBB has no choice but to finally give an UNsatisfactory rating to a BBB member business that is paying the BBB big membership fees every year. When a business is reported that is NOT a BBB member, BBB files WILL more likely show an UNsatisfactory rating, then reportedly shake down that company to become a member of the BBB. One positive thing about the BBB is, either way, if a business has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB, you can be sure, the business is bad. But what about all those BBB member businesses that had complaints filed against them? Consumers never get to hear about them. What about the BBB advertising to the public? Is this a false and misleading perception they are giving about consumer confidence when dealing with a business?
