I googled my 12 year old daughters name yesterday, which I do periodically just to check on the internet safety of my children. Her name has never come up before but now her name comes up instantly with a link to a instantcast site with her name on it.

This bothers me for many reasons. How did they get her name. She has never heard of it before and did not fill out anything on the web. All of the reports listed here that I have been reading is that they were charged a fee. Would they have posted my daughters name without a credit card? I KNOW for a fact that it is not anyone else because my daughter has a very unique name and there is no one else especially in our town that could have that name.

I tried to call the only number they have listed and it has been disconnected. HELP. Im scared that my daughters name is out there and we dont know who did it.

If you entered a persons name into a "people search" type program, then the advertisement on the following page is programed to put that information into the ad. If you typed in a name and city that could not possibly be real, the ad will still offer to sell you the report. It is just an ad to get you to click. It's a trick. I'm sorry this freaked you out so much. I had never thought about that outcome. I always just thought they were kinda clever.
