I needed to find an old classmate and did not find info on the free sites. Intellius offered a one time 2.95 fee for a search. I bit on this and that is where the fiasco started. A week later I was charged 19.95 on my card for AP 9 PMIdentity. The first number I called wanted all kinds of info I did not have such as account numbers and the exact time and date. The rep was polite, but, not necessarilly helpful. The next day I see that the company name had changed during a pending period and the phone # for customer service had changed as well. I did an internet search and found I was not the only person with this problem. I did not get through an automated calling system to deal with the issue. I called my bank and they were able to get through in minutes and made the rep offer a name and confirmation that could be traced back. I received email confirmation that the account was cancelled.

It seems they send an email blast after you buy a service. This usually ends up in a spam folder with PM Identity in the subject box. If the person does not respond to this email with an opt out request they charge the account used.

This is a blattant rip off and I would encourage all to be aware and do not use Intellius for a person search.
