If you read the above report, you see where I went to get my deposit back, having to leave my job at 10:30 am and drive 20 miles to the property in order to get my $100 cash deposit back. When I arrived at 11am, there was a long line of people in the office paying rent and checking out. After waiting my turn, the manager Shawn asked what I needed. I said I had given my 24 hour notice yesterday and was checking out. He radioed his co-manager to go and "inspect" room 220. After a few minutes, she radioed back that one of the two towels and the one washcloth we were alloted were "stained". Shawn then said there would be a $5 charge for the towel and a $2.50 charge for the washcloth deducted from my deposit. I basically went postal at that point and turned to the other people in line telling them that this company was a scam maching and would cheat them at every opportunity. I requested that the towels be brought down to the office. The other manager, a woman named Amanda, brought the towels down. The two pieces had no stains, only the normal residual of being used continually for a whole week (you can't get new towels during the week). I argued with her for about five minutes with her saying it was a judgement call, and she didn't think those "stains" would come out. My brother then challenged her to open the towel storeroom just across the hall and let's look at the "clean" towels they deliver to the rooms to see if there were any pre-existing stains on them. She refused. In the end, I had no choice but to pay the $7.50 bogus charges or go berserk and go to jail. People, we did not wipe our feet on the towels, we didn't wipe makeup on them, we didn't use them to clean grease off the stove top - WE HAD TO USE THEM EACH DAY AND HANG THEM UP TO DRY FOR THE NEXT DAY! There was nothing wrong with those towels. I took the towels for "evidence", and I have filed a complaint with the BBB. I am also trying to contact a national radio complaint program starring Tom Martino at his website - www.troubleshooter.com, and I will try to contact local TV stations, and whatever else I can do legally to expose these ripoff, scamming, con atrists. You do the same.
