James Dampier Carport Ripoff Internet
On June 5th 2013 Mr. Dampier was at our residence to give us a quote on a carport. The price given to us was fair. We paid Mr. Dampier half of the cost of the carport which was $1575.00. Mr. Dampier could not satisfy the windstorm engineer. The first sketches offered to the engineer was unprofessional and the engineer ask to have them redone. We kept calling and e-mailing Mr. Dampier for updates submittal of the second sketches. We got little or no reponse from Mr. Dampier. In fact the last communications we had with him was June 20, 2013. Through an e-mail he ask for our telephone number. He called stating the problems he was having getting the windstorm engineer approval. He cashed our $1575.00 check the very next day he recieved it. When we ask for our mony back he stated he used the money to purchase the carport material. Mr. Dampier said he could not afford to give our money back at the time but offered 2 options. Option#1 he would give us the material and let us find someone to install it which was unaccetable to us. The other option was for him to sell the carport to someone else and then return our money. Since then he has not returned our phone calls or e-mails. It is not a good feeling to get ripoff espicially when you are on a fixed income.

i am james dampier the owner of carportsunlimited .the facts of the the matter is very simple you have not been ripped off in fact you still own the material that you signed for ,the situation is very simple i sold you a carport that was windloaded to exceed all wind ratings for your area and have many of these exact same units all around your area constructed the exact same way .when you chose the windstorm engineer to inspect the unit he didnt like what the other state registered engineer designed because he felt like you should pay him to design the unit .
i am fine with anyway you want to do this however he never produced drawings as you didnt want to pay your windstorm guy 1700.00 which is completely correct as i wouldnt do it either .the city will approve the drawing i supplied for a permit as they have many times already with the same drawings i supply .
sir your carport is still sitting here waiting on you as of today sept the 4th as the contract states many times once the manufactur of material is started the material is yours and you are responsible for the cost due to it being an odd size i told you that i would attempt to sell it for you and return your money if anyone called about that size .you have certainly not been ripped off and you could be enjoying your professionlly engineered and installed carport as you wanted in the first place and as i stated many times i am ready to build and install for you as designed .i however dont see any need for you to spend extra money to have your windstorm guy design the project THANK YOU AND I WANT TO FIX THIS ISSUE JAMES DAMPIER 2818308616
