I have had a similar experience with Jayco. Now granted, I understand there is a 2 yr warranty on the travel trailer. But I understood there to be a 12 yr warranty on the roof. Now this is the situation. I have a leak. The roof material is not damaged, so its really not their fault. But Jayco failed to seal the edges properly, so now I have internal damage from this slow water leak. But since it took so long to notice it inside, jayco wont help. As a matter of fact, a guy named "tony bonstraker?" told me flat out..."it may be our fault, but its not our problem".

The good news is, the roofing company, (((competitor's name redacted)))...has been entirely stand up. They are sending all the materials to fix the roof itself. I feel like they really went above and beyond to keep a customer happy. I am still out of pocket to fix damage inside, even though it is insured (only for accidents tho), and Jayco couldn't care less whether anyone buys from them again or not. I have never been treated so rudely, and felt so ripped off. Jayco shoppers beware!!

sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company, ..plus, if you post a competitors name more than likely they will show up on search engines as a Rip-off! - - your comments on this policy are welcome. CLICK here to see why Rip-off Report, as a matter of policy, deleted either a phone number, link or e-mail address from this Report. In this case we removed an alleged competitors name

Roof sealant warranty

All RV manufacturers have a 90 day sealant warranty exclusion. This is a mainteneance item just like tire pressure and filling the propane tanks.

From that date the owner is required to check and maintain the roof sealant.

The owners manual requires this maintenance check be done every 90 days.

You didn't do your maintenance.

You didn't read your owners manual.

If you had caught this on your first 90 day maintenace the manufacturer would have fixed it.

Not the manufacturers fault.

Sorry but this is 100% on the owner and OP.

The trailer is 6 years old and had a 2 year warranty....

Why would Jayco feel responsible?

I agree, it shouldn't have happened, but the warranty spells out the terms and the time limit on the trailer coverage.

4 years out of warranty is a little bit of a stretch to expect the mfr to make you whole.

Sorry for the damage to your new trailer.
