Joel Wilson ripped me off for $200.

To work for his 2nd rate company I was required to use his 'company cell phone'. Why? I already had a perfectly working cell phone.

When we parted ways I mailed it back to him. A few days later I got the cell phone in the mail. Joel said that he didn't get it back w/in 24hrs so he wasn't accepting it and he was deducting $200 off my final paycheck.

He had made me sign a contract and fax it to him while I was in way over my head on a job for JCW. This was a slick move; overwhelm a person w/ work and then demand a contract be signed when they don't have the time to thoroughly read it.

I was getting paid $20 an hr to work for JCW Consulting so that means I worked 10 hrs for free. This is a popular scam amongst 2nd tier IT consulting companies

I guess Joel is in the cell phone business as well and this is how he sells cell phones?

JCW -jcwcc.com- is an all around classless outfit. The day before Thanksgiving I was let go because I stood up for myself while Joel was screaming at the top of his lungs. What an ego-maniac!

If Joel didn't have his 'Minority Business Enterprise Certification' the man would have no contracts. JCW Consulting can't compete on a level playing field with REAL IT OUTFITS so they sucker charter schools into awarding them contracts.

An example of how he rips these schools off is how he sells the AVG anti-virus program. Ridiculous, you can download that program for free and it works just as well as the paid for version. AVAST anti-virus is even better and its free too. But the purse strings at these charter schools don't know that so they listen to him and buy AVG.

This alone should show you what a shady character Joel Wilson is.

And then there's the man's attitude. What an arrogant man! Here he gets contracts purely because of the color of his skin and yet he acts like he's Bill Gates on the cutting edge of IT. Again, if he were playing on a level playing field he'd have NO CONTRACTS.

You should have seen the 'company meetings' we'd have. With the exception of Chike, none of his IT guys are certified in anything and most of them don't know what they are doing. I'd sit there at these meetings and Joel would bore us to death with stories about what a great guy he is and all he's accomplished. I kept looking around to see if we were being filmed for an infomercial or documentary ;-)

He'd tell us about college -can you say Affirmative Action- and working for big companies -again Affirmative Action- and he'd try to convince you he was the 2nd Coming.

I have never been treated so condescendingly by any company I've ever worked for and I've been in the IT business since 1995.

Do not do business with this man! Do not award him contracts -his services are sub-par- and definitely DO NOT WORK FOR THIS MAN!

Unless of course, you want to pay hundreds of dollars for a 1 year AVG license and all manner of needless 'repairs' or get ripped off for a 2nd hand $200 cell phone

If you look at his site you'll see what a 2nd rate company this is. It looks like it was set up by a High School student which it probably was.

I see he's going into computer training now. LOL. Definitely do not pay for computer training at JCW. His own IT guys don't even know what they're doing so how could they possibly train someone in IT? Besides that, all his computers in his 'training room' are old and RAM starved. It takes 20 min just to log into an XP Machine.

Oh and if you check out company 'headquarters' at 7478 Rhoads St SUITE B what you'll find is a Philadelphia row house that is dark and smelly inside. Using the word 'suite' is a deliberate deception to make you think the place is fancy when its not. Its his house!

The more I think about it the happier I am not to have anything to do with this despicable man.

I hope the next guy he rips off for $200 takes the cell phone and buries it in Joel's head. That might get the message through his thick skull that ripping people off is unacceptable and sometimes there's a harsh price to be paid for doing so.
