I feel that I found some very good reading for you folks that are thinking of buying a used car soon. Info that that "I feel" J.D. Byrider dealers would not want you to read. Many car dealers nationwide like to keep info like this under the rug. They seem to want the car buying public to be UN-informed of dealer scams and Rip Off's. Being a Rip Off Report consumer advocate I feel it is my job or calling to make sure car buyers get the inside scoop on auto dealer scams and Rip Off's. http://www.courier-journal.com/cjextra/2004projects/byrider/ It is very hard to find newspapers that are willing to do in-depth stories on the deceptive ways of the auto industry. That being said, When I find a news story that I feel to be informative I will post it. It sure seems to me that many newspapers focus on the advertising money they get from car dealers much more then informing auto buyers of the deception in the auto industry. Here is some very good reading for you car buyers of America. http://www.courier-journal.com/cjextra/2004projects/byrider/stories/A10-britt0613-4363.html http://www.courier-journal.com/cjextra/2004projects/byrider/stories/A10-worley-0613-3971.html http://www.courier-journal.com/cjextra/2004projects/byrider/stories/A10-henderson0613-3792.html Read this one, I feel it is very informative for car buyers. http://www.courier-journal.com/cjextra/2004projects/byrider/stories/A1-byrider-26432.html Hey Bob in Chandler, AZ. Do you think car buyers should be able to read the above? By the way Bob. I have a question for you. Do all of your car buying contracts have MANDATORY ARBITRATION CLAUSES built in? I am willing to bet they do! I feel that all car buyers need to read the info at the below URL. It is very informative. It's about a trend in the auto industry that is taking the rights away from car buyers that feel Ripped OFF! Call it a "NEED to READ" "Public Citizen, the national consumer advocacy group, said that arbitration clauses give businesses the advantage in disputes with consumers and undermine the constitutional right to a jury trial." I feel that no car dealer would want car buyers to read the info at the below URL. No car buyer should EVER buy a car from a car dealer that has MANDATORY ARBITRATION CLAUSES in their contracts. Tell the dealer to STICK IT! http://www.courier-journal.com/cjextra/2004projects/byrider/stories/A9-arbitration0613-6034.html A local law firm in Phoenix hired me to come into review a law suit against a very big RV dealer here in Arizona. After going through all documentation that the RV dealer provided the plaintiff's law firm. I found forged documentation, I found fabricated documentation that clearly show deception. I informed the plaintiff's and the defendant's law firm that all I seen was FRAUD, DECEPTION, FORGERY. I even went to the RV park were the RV buyer was living at to see the coach in question. Talk about a pile of CRAP! After all was said and done, the Arbitrator ruled in favor of the RV dealer, Even though I clearly showed that the RV dealer took action of FRAUD, DECEPTION, FORGERY. Bottom line, RV BUYER got BENT OVER because of an Arbitration clause. Arbitrator got paid big money, RV dealer made a big profit and got off Scott free, RV buyer got BENT OVER! And is still BENT OVER! By the way you RV buyers. The Monroney law does NOT apply to RV's. So pay close attention to the RV MSRP. If a RV does not have a manufacture's MSRP clearly posted on it, DO NOT BUY THE COACH! Many RV dealers like to remove the maker's MSRP so they can sell RVs for WAY OVER sticker.

Bob, Unless we hear differently from Paul and Alice I would like to say GOOD JOB. It is unfortunate that sometimes things like this have to happen where it comes to the point where a person feels they have to resort to an outside source in their frustration. Your response seems to indicate that things have been taken care of... at least to put out this fire. I have a lot of experience in electronic manufacturing and the most important thing I could do was "root cause" a problem. Sometimes trying to fix a problem is focused on putting out the fire (satisfying the customer). It doesn't go deep enough and root out the true problem (either unresponsive service/finance people, or these people not having the authority to provide a remedy). If I'm not mistaken, JD finances the cars? It just makes dollars and sense to make sure that the customer is happy with the car that they bought. Between the cost of the car and the interest on the loan, $189 is a very small price to pay. Also, making the payments as easy and unfrustating as possible pays off in the long run... the customer can easily make the payments on the date that works best for them, you all get the payments, and you will probably not have people defaulting on their loans because the "service fees" and frustration won't pile up to the point where a person wants to walk away from the car. Worn brake pads are very easy to find and should have been replaced immediately. More importantly, they should have been seen before the car was placed on the lot for sale. Focusing on these things that cause the problem can keep others from having no other recourse than to seek outside support. It can also build up a reputation that will bring people into your business. Thanks,
Bob

We made contact with our customer within days of this complaint being filed. We reimbersed them for the expense they incurred repairing their brakes and had their vehicle back in to handle their other issues. We were able to change their payment days to meet their needs. To our knowledge we were able to satisfy all their requests and regret that they had a problem at our dealership. Please inform us if there is any other remedy needed.
