Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
Last night while driving on I-24 in TN, I ran across a woman and her children on the side of the road standing in the cold. The weather called for snow, sleet and temperatures in the 20s later in the evening/early Saturday morning. They were holding signs which stated that they were homeless because of 'Jeremy Richardson'. Because I work with a national television show that is aires daily I was very interested in her story and who this 'Jeremy Richardson' guy was.

I found out that 'Jeremy' operates a business, Richardson Equities, LLC in Oregon where he purchases homes for people that are not able to do so through conventional loans. In this woman's story, she had started doing business with Jeremy in October, 2007. She had sent Jeremy $5,000.00 as the down payment for her new home.

Employees of Jeremy had told her that they could close on her home by the end of November. Likewise, she turned in her notice with her landlord. On November 29, 2007, this lady stated that she tried to call Jeremy 74 times to make sure that the house was going to close on the following day. She further stated that on the few occassions when someone did answer that the people that she spoke to were rude and offered her no assistance.

At 10:30 p.m. on November 29, 2007, the real estate agent for this lady received an email from Brad, a former employee of Jeremy's that stated they needed an extension. This was the first time either the lady or the real estate agent knew there was a problem with the closing. However, it was too late for this lady and her children to make arrangements to stay in the house that they were due to leave the next day. The following day (the anticipated date of closing) this lady was able to make a deal with the sellers of the new house to move in the new house at a huge cost per day but they were told they could not move anything into the house, that all of their belongings had to stay in the garage.

They were forced to sleep on the floor and live out of boxes. Jeremy during the follwing week never followed through with the closing after a one week extension was allowed. This lady was told Friday (December 7, 2007) at 12:00 p.m. that she could continue to stay in the house pending closing.

Two hours later she was called by the real estate agent and told she and her children had to move within 24 hours. This is a lady who had three children and no where to go. She did not have family near by and was only in this location because of a job. She did not have a husband that could help as a protective order had been entered for her and her children against the husband for domestic violence. Church members being notified of the problem, allowed this lady and her children to move into an old farm house for a period not to exceed 3 weeks. The house, being old and vacant, came with some extra features, mice! Because of the large amount of droppings, this lady and her children became ill almost immediately following moving into the house. Her children had to sleep on the floor. According to this lady, Jeremy and his office were made aware of her condition OVER AND OVER!

In the latter part of December, Jeremy contacted this woman and stated that he wanted "to make everything right." Once again, trying to provide for her children and knowing that Jeremy had her money, she trusted Jeremy and begin looking for a home. Her second home was too close this past Tuesday (15th). However, this did not happen either as Jeremy told her "things were not looking good for real estate investors." She was told this on Monday (January 14th).

This lady knowing that other people were looking at her second home asked the real estate agent to withdraw the offer so that the sellers could proceed with selling their home. This lady is now homeless (gave notice on the rental that she was currently in which ended on the 15th). Jeremy had signed contracts for both of her homes and not followed through with any of them. It is important to remember that this lady has a protection order for her and her children.

All this lady was trying to do was to protect her children and provide them a home before 'Jeremy' took all of that away from them. This lady in good faith gave Jeremy at the time of her initial deposit and extra $2,050.00 for the first month's mortgage payment. Also, because Jeremy failed to send the earnest money on the first house and in an attempt to keep the house in contract, she took her December paycheck in advance and paid $1,000.00 in earnest money. This house she lost two weeks later.

This lady is now out $8,050.00. She and her children are homeless! Jeremy promised to send her money back this past week, but failed to do so.

This lady is devastated and her and her children's life has been turned upside down. I have asked her if she is willing to tell her story on a national television show; if she agrees to a television appearance, I commit to airing her show this coming week.
