Jim Gillingham - Mega City Pools, Mega City Home Improvements, Ontario Specialty Roofing Ripped off by Jim Gillingham under THREE company names Toronto Ontario
Wished we'd found this site BEFORE hiring this person.
I was assured (by Mr Gillingham) that he had all permits/licences etc, AND he trained a Canadian Television host of a home repair show which we've come to find out he has NONE, nor did he ever train anyone. This man is GOOD at scamming...many assurances and a little work at a time (BADLY) but always comes up with good excuses (ie weather, waiting for materials etc) but runs when you actually state you are giving him NO more money till the first part of the job is done.
We were taken for several thousand dollars, an unfinished roof, trenches in the backyard that WERE not approved in writing by us to be dug, unfinished widows, and general poor work which will have to be re-done. Still owing (but paid in full as marked on our contract BY Jim Gillingham) are the eavestroughs, soffits and facia.
As I said...this guy is VERY good at scammming the public with many promises of being able to everything. We are new at owning a house, and are kicking ourselves at being "taken" but want to let others in the Greater Toronto Area that he is in fact here (Including the Burlington area, Newmarket area) and to watch out for him and his family. We'll probably never see our money or product again but at least we can warn others.

It's one year later and still no "Mr" Gillingham. He was residing in Burlington, Ontario on Lakeshore Road with his son for a short period of time but has since disappeared from there too. The City of Toronto now has a suit against him as do us. I only wish that this man could be stopped sooner rather than later. We have contacted the local fraud squad with the police department but without "proof" that he "intentionally" did this there is nothing they will do. Sad, really.
