I was contacted by Joseph Barber in response to my resume posted on www.upwork.com. He told me the interview would be via google hangouts. And, if I didn't have a gmail account, I had to set one up and contact the Hiring Manager.

This will be strictly an online and work from home job until the branch is commissioned. The working hours are flexible and you can choose to work from anywhere of your choice. We have three working sections which are (Morning, Evening and Full day)..The Morning section begins from 8am-1pm, Evening section 2pm-7pm, Full day section cover's both Morning and Evening sections with one hour break between 1pm and 2pm, Monday to Friday. I told him that I wanted to contract work through Upwork.com. That way I would know that they're a verified employer and will pay what they promise. He said, "Once you are hired you will receive an Employment offer letter which you will be required to fill,sign and emailed back to us for documentation purpose."
I continued to say that I will only work through upwork.com until a working relationship is established. He said I was able to decline if I didn't feel comfortable moving forward. I declined. He ended with: "Good have a blessed day..."
This was my first fake interview. I received 5 more interview invitations just like this. So, now I know how to recognize them. When I call them out on their BS, the standard response at the end is, ok, stay blessed.
Be on the lookout for fake jobs that are too good to be true.
