John Carter, Attorney, sent me 18 increasingly threatening emails saying that he had been hired to collect a payday loan from BMG Payday Loans. The emails contained numerous spelling and grammatical errors.
He had relevant information about me including: name, old address, SSN, bank and bank account number, and driver's license number. However, I DID NOT borrow any money from BMG Payday loans.
I asked for proof that I owed the money, he said I had received that information. I asked for a phone number for BMG. He gave me a phone number. The person answering didn't give a company name just said hello in a really thick accent.
Every day the email said it was my "final day." I said if I owed the money I would pay, but I wanted proof. The most threatening email follows:
There is no positive reply from your side. It clearly showsthat you are running away from this legal matter. Now any time you will get summons as well as possession notice for auction of your any property. You have to sign power of attorney. As per contract between you and the company what you had signed, Company can go for all legal process. and once class action will be started your Resolvement amount will be $10.000.00 plus all legal expenses and charges. Your ssn. May be blocked and blacklisted by banking authorities as per laws. Now best is yours either resolve it now or ready to go for long painful process.
