JOHN DI SPIRITO aka DI SPIRITO MASONRY & TILE JOHN DI SPIRITO; DI SPIRITO MASONRY & TILE John DiSpirito ripped me off ORANGE PARK FL
On November 17, 2018, I tendered a large, up-front deposit & signed a contract with John DiSpirito (aka DiSpirito Masonry & Tile) to complete some concrete & paver work at my home. The contract clearly specified that the work would be completed in 3 weeks. I insisted on these terms because many of my family members would be staying at my new home in December for the holidays & my daughter's wedding.
I also needed the work completed within this time frame because I planned on having a large wedding party at the house. In early December, DiSpirito barely "scratched the surface" of completing the job so I began pushing him very hard to get the job done. He responded to my pleas with very encouraging language (i.e. BS), but as every day passed, very little productive work got done.
DiSpirito is a very slick talker so he somehow convinced me that he would get the job done within 4 weeks, but he never even came close. Obviously, I feel like a fool for believing him, but hindsight is always 20/20. On Dec 24, after generously giving DiSpirito EIGHT weeks to complete the job, I finally fired DiSpirto & hired a reliable contractor to finish the work. DiSpirito took advantage of me because he already had my $3K deposit, plus he knew I needed the job done for the above listed reasons.
Moreover, he left a huge, costly mess for my new contractor to deal with (pictures attached). DiSpirito's incessant excuses for not showing up to work ranged from "traffic delays" to family members "dying in the hospital emergency ward". Needless to say, I am suing DiSpirito civily for the $3000 I foolishly paid him up front. I'm extremely embarrassed that I let this con-man deceive me so badly.
I have never made an online complaint like this before, but I feel compelled to do whatever I can now to prevent John DiSpirito from ripping off other people.
