I purchased a 2001 Mazda MPV from John Koons Mazda in Marlow Heights, MD.

The purchase went pretty well and all of our paperwork was in order. We had traded in our 1999 Honda Accord and we received a fair trade price for it. We also got the extended warranty on our new MPV.

This is where our problems started. I ended up receiving a phone call from our Honda Accord finance company about our no payment. I was taken aback because we traded this in TWO months earlier. Well, seems that the shady practices of JOHN KOONS were at work here. After SEVERAL phone calls to JOHN KOONS, they finally paid it off, minus the two months payments that we had to make. This was not agreed upon when we purchased our MPV. JOHN KOONS just made $800.00 off of us. It was such a battle dealing with them that I just gave up and counted my lose. Lesson learned I guess.

Fast Forward 5 years I am now stationed in New Orleans and the MPV started having problems. Good thing I spent an extra $1,300.00 on the extended warranty. I took the MPV to a local dealer so they could check it out. They did find a problem and made repairs. I was also charged for all of the workWHY? Because there was never any extended warranty in the system. Imagine that! Luckily, I had the paperwork showing when it was purchased, and a willing staff over in New Orleans that helped out here. They told me that they had never had such a problem dealing with another dealers screw up as much as they did with KOONS. Koons did eventually pay for the repairs, but what makes me really irritated was that I was never really covered by the extended warranty. More money they stole from me.

I honestly do not think that I will EVER buy another Mazda again because of KOONS MAZDA's Shady practices.

Keep in mind....yes, you had a dealer that screwed you over. On the flip side, you had a dealer that went out of their way to help you.
