If ever anybody needs to be aware of a scam artist then please please read this. I'm not the only victim who has been taken by Jon Gerald Bentley. I met Jon in Palm Springs California at gay bar. We struck up a nice conversation in the beginning but after about a month of knowing him, it turns out that he has quite the bad reputation in PS for being the town drunk. I regret that I let my guard down and actually became intimate with him during the first couple weeks of meeting him. He told me he was HIV negative but I found out that he has been living with AIDS for many years.
I want to warn others about this liar. The only saving grace is that I am still testing negative but it's onlyl been a few months so I have to continue monitoring my status. I am bummed that I "loaned" him $500 for what he claimed would be used for helping his family. He told me his brother died and his mom was having a hard time and was depressed and tried to commit suicide. I have never been paid back and I don't expect to get anything back as he is such a drunk and a big loser.
It goes without saying that those losers in Palm Springs tend to hang around together. I understand that his ex BF Timothy Crow is also his cohort in crime and they rip off many guy together. Please I hope that this message gets out so as to protect the many unsuspecting victims who visit Palm springs.
I also found out from a few different people in PS that he is notorious for suing his employers. Evidently his mom still pays for his expenses and rent. Jon is about 47 years old and he obviously continues to scam people for money. I feel sorry for anyone who meets him and I'm definitely sorry for any employer who hires him. Beware as he will sue you when he gets desperate. He has several lawsuits filed including Restraining orders in Riverside County.
