Hello,

My name is Steven Case.

Dear Reader last time I checked there was more than one company name for the company I'm referring to, so I'm using the owner's names. If you recognize them you won't get nailed too!

My wife and I took a home entertainment technician job (intalling home theatre/satellite/cable) that was posted on the Mesa county job listings. We figured if it is routed through the county then they are legitimat. We were living in our travel trailer and had the right tools for the job.

After a few interviews with Joe and his wife they explained we would be crew leads. We took the job. The first place he sent us was to subcontract a job in KS pulling the cable filters off telephone poles for a local cable programming upgrade. We explained to him that we were on our last $500 and he reassured us that we would be paid in 2 week increments, we were 2 of the 3 people out of 15 that were "supposed" to be there for the job.

After a week he decided to pull the contract because he would lose money. He came down to Witchita and even towed our trailer and supplied fuel for us to come to our present location. When we tried to get a lot for a trailer with the use of his AUTHORIZED credit card, it was rejected, as were the next 3 he provided. I assumed it was an accident so I got in touch with his wife who informed me that he KNEW all his cards were maxed.

We then stayed with a crewmember locally until Joe could come settle us in. Yes the alarms were going off now, But we had passed the point of no return, we were broke, some damage had occured to our trailer and our truck from the travel, and my wife had quit her job in grand junction.

We performed several jobs here for him. Originally he told us we would turn in the work orders to get paid, but all we ever got were addresses to perform the work, then he would come by the customers later to get the paperwork. Needless to say we did't get paid after about 1 and 1/2 months.

All our resources drained and we had to move into the local red-cross homeless shelter for the next 4 months. He owes us for about 1500+ in labor, and I am not even sure how much in other damages, our travel trailer has been stolen, my wife had a nervous breakdown while we were in the shelter etc.

Since we have no documentation (the work orders were all the records there were and any info we had was in the trailer) I have NO clue what to do.

This was about a year ago. We are now sharing a 300sq.ft. apt with someone we know from the shelter, and are receiving public assistance. We are SLOWLY making our way back to normal now.

If you know this man or have dealings with him, he mainly does dish installs, drop him like an ant sandwich at a picnic. Please let me know how to get in touch with him, or give me some idea on how to get him what he deserves, our money, time and life would be nice to have back but I have since lost ALL HOPE of this ever happening.

Keep it in writing in a safe deposit box. If nothing else I have learned even more so not to trust anyone.

Sorry so long-winded but this took place over about a 5 month period.

P.S. God Bless the Red Cross

Steven
