Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
On April 19, 2002 we signed a contract with Joshua Development to have a house built. We requested extras that John McManus (God curse him) told us were available. They were a circular driveway, (we live on a VERY bust street), solar screens (helo we live in the desert) and cieling fans in the bedrooms and living room. They never got done. Even though they are in the contract signed by John McManus.

When we asked him why they were not done, he lied to us and said that the lender didn't want them on the contract, when we called the lender (my mother in law) and told her she said that was a bald faced lie. When we confronted John with this, he just shrugged and said "Well I guess your just s**t out of luck." This is nothing but the old bait and switch routine.

Also, they accidently poured a patio that we didn't order. Wouldn't have been a problem, we were going to pour one anyway, we would have payed for it. But nooooo, they day before closing they had someone come out and CUT IT IN HALF!!!! They left a "sidewalk" on the back of our house! It's 4 1/2 feet wide by 20 feet long.

John also told us that the house had all copper plumbing, it isn't. Its stubbed in copper, but the plumbing is in fact pex tubing.

And now to top it all off, bear in mind this house is only 5 months old! We have these huge ridges coming up in the roof. They start from the top of the roof and go all the way down to the edge. It looks terrible. But that son of a B wont do a thing.

If you live in Lake Havasu City, or you know someone who does, and they are considering building a home DONT USE THESE ASSHOLES.

For John McManus: Thank you for confirming what we have suspected all along -- The AZ Department of Real Estate & Registrar of Contractors is inept or corrupt!

I suppose you are also going to use as a defense that you are a member of the Better Business Bureau in good standing also. Let's see, did AZ Department of Real Estate & Registrar of Contractors have Joe Arpaio's Posse investigate the matter? That would explain how these people got screwed! You make it sound like it is a crime to try and negotiate the best deal you can for yourself in making the biggest purchase in one's life. Also, when you make as many houses as you do, there is the tendency to cut corners and sub-contract to the lowest bidder, regardless of quality. AZ government realizes this and politicians get most of their contributions from realtors, builders and car dealers... therefore, that is the source of most corruption in this state.

We built a home for Mr. and Mrs. Wood in 2002. Their main complaint seemed to be that they did not get extras that they were not willing to pay for. The Woods took these complaints to the Registrar of Contractors. The complaints were investigated and dismissed. The Woods took these complaints to the Department of Real Estate. The complaints were investigated and dismissed. We offered to buy the house back from Mr. and Mrs. Wood. We have addressed every complaint of Mr. and Mrs. Wood short of giving them something that they were not willing to pay for. Unfortunately, when we build as many homes as we do, sooner or later we find someone that we just cannot please. Mr. and Mrs. Wood's property has doubled in value since we built their home. I suspect that they are still not happy. John McManus V.P. Sales and Marketing Joshua Development LLC
