I have been shipping with UPS for over six years and I have never once had my "account credited" for damages. UPS will fax you a claim form and after you fill out that form and fax it back they will reimburse the seller for the cost of the item (or repair) plus shipping. This reimbursement is a check mailed to the seller, not the buyer. I think Joshua has taken you for a ride, UPS issues checks within 48 hours when their paperwork is returned to them (if the claim is not denied). This never takes three months and Joshua should have credited you, replaced the damaged piece or done something, but UPS's responsibility lies with the shipper, not the receiver. It's not illegal for Josuah to keep the money, it's immoral. I'd post his comments in his email as negative feedback and I'd also send them to ebay. At least he is admitting that he received money for damages and is refusing to give that money to you. I wouldn't want that fact as part of my history.
