I went to K-mart on shawnee mission parkway in Overland park kansas about a year ago. I had purchased a few things and when I went to return one of them and just get my money back they said that I could not have cash because I wrote a check. I thought OK I understand and I asked the "manager" behind the custermer service counter if I could come back after 14 days they said no. I think it is the biggest scam that these big corperations like K-mart are treating their custermers like this. It is FRAUD and it is THEFT. The only real action we as consumers have is to boycott the company and hope that the next company wont screw us again.

On the super k-mart gift cards, it says on the back at the bottom that if the card remains inactive for 12 months, it will take off approximately 2.20 per month until the 24th month and then it will have eaten itself up the card is then useless. Yes, I disagree with it a little, but this is what the card says.

They filed the following rebuttal to the above Rip-Off Report:
Their email: [email protected]
Their name: Ben Juker
Their relationship to the company: Consumer Suggestion
Rebuttal:
Wow! Does it say anywhere on the card that there is a 12 month time limit? If it doesn't, I would suggest that their policy is invalid if they don't tell the recipient when they hand them out. Don't throw yours away until you find out for sure. The long and short of it is this: Now they have your money AND the goods. You should be able to get one or the other. If you pulled a stunt like this, they would call it THEFT or FRAUD!
