The KGS attempted to add an additional class "environmental" science to students already contracted to the required classes to graduate. I was 2 terms from graduation, some students were in their last term. They knew that they were wrong because, when I had a lawyer call and ask for a copy of my paperwork. They were scared, the next night I was told I did not have to take the class. The following week only new students had to take the class. KGS looks for low income, uneducated people in the hopes that they can get away with breaking laws. I knew going into the school that it was not going to be Yale. I just wanted to finish my associates degree quickly and at a lower cost that a state university. I knew I would get nowhere with just an associates but it was a step in the door. I was stunned at how bad it really was. There were some homeless "students" sleeping in cars in the back parking lot. You could savor the stench of marajuana in the parking lot daily. I mean strippers right off the poles. I really do not care what people do in their personal lives. I do believe however that an educational institution should maintain some aspect of professionalism by having a dress code. I could not believe the disrespect the school tolerated. I have never been to a school that allowed students to wear hats in class. Or women to display nipples and rear end. Ok they had a rough life, they are lower income, whatever, it is a dis-service not to teach them a sense of professionalism. That is what education after high school is about. Several professers and staff have complained to me about the situation. More and more professors aer leaving, and the new ones do not last long. It is sad the school is so corrupt. I had some awesome professors who genuinely had passion for what they taught. I have also met a couple students, who like me just used Gibbs as a stepping stone, they knew how to make the best of it. I am trying to get refunded for the services that are include in the tuition that are not available, like career services and exit counseling.
