I had a childhood dream of meeting prince charming, haveing a perfect wedding with the perfect dress just like any other little girl would. I found my prince charming and my perfect wedding dress.

I had been to alot of different bridal shop's and tried alot of dresses on but when I walked into Kaufman's Wedding World and but this dress on I knew that it was the one (alfred angelo style #1946)

I believe that one of the sales woman helping me was the manager and I seen that the price tag on the dress said it was $998.00 which was a little out of my price range but she had said to that it was there aniversary sale and that the dress was probally between 6 and 7 hundred dollars so I asked her if she could get me a exact price so she said yes I can call and get the price.

I thought to myself what do you mean call and get the price arent you the manager but I just brushed it off and she came back and told me that the dress of my dreams was on sale for $549.00 and all they kept telling me was how good of a deal I was getting they had installed this in my head so much that me, my mom, and grandmom really thought we were getting this incredible deal.

I told my sales ladies that we were going home to talk to my dad about the dress and let him know that I found the one I wanted because after all my dad was paying for it with his credit card.

Right away they started telling me about how the price was only good for today and that the dress might be discontinued. I said what do you mean the price is only good for today she said they could stop the sale at any time and they could call tomarrow and get the price and it could be more expensive tomarrow. ookkayy!

So my mother and I went back the very next day to order the dress and pay for it in full which was at the beginning of august I was told that my dress would be in at the end of january what a long time I thought. the sales lady also made a comment that I needed to order my wedding dress at least 9 to months ahead of you wedding day that seemed a little long to me but I figured what did I know I have never been married before.

my question is how could these woman let me walk into this store or the owners for that matter and let me buy something knowing what was going to be happening in about 3 or 4 weeks my mom says that the sales people probally did not know but I think they had to have known a little something.

My mom went down to the store monday to talk to someone about my dress and she was at the end of the one mile line and she got up to the store front a couple of minutes before 5 o'clock and the lady turned arould to my mom and 2 other people who were at the end of the line with my mom and says we close at five if you promise me that you will not yell and act all crazy and be mean i'll let you in but if not your not coming in because I have been dealing with it all day!

First of all what in the hell is that about? Everyone has the right to yell and scream. Some of these girls that have weddings in a couple of months weeks evan a couple of days have counted on and gave there trust to the Kaufmans and now have nothing what is suposed tp be the most important day in someones life has been destroyed by these people including me my dress is payed for in full and I have no dress but luckily for there may be some hope because i did charge my dress I also registered all 5 of my girls to be fit for a jordan dress at kaufman's as well.

I think that the kaufman's should be at the stores dealing with these customer's including myself

Just to let everyone know. I worked at kaufmans, up till the day we closed and for a week after. None of us knew a thing that was going on. We were to get paid that day and a fax was sent that drivers will be leaving altoona to deliver the pay at 5:00, at :15 we were all called upstairs and told that there was no paychecks and the store was out of business. In the mean time ira was crying and all. His whole family put everything they had into this business. They spent all day day after day working there. They were a d**n good business for years, they just had a very big downfall. Things like this happen everyday. I am just saying dont take it out on employees we did out best with the info that was given.
