If the black spot is indeed black algae then it is a condition of improper water balance. You mentioned sand and liners. I assume you have an Above Ground Pool. It is very difficult for black algae to form inside of an AG pool. Black algae has a root which has to dig into something. Usually in an AG situation it is due to laps or folds in the liners. In a plaster pool it roots directly into a pit or crack or crevice in the plaster. Either way maintaining proper balance of chlorine and ph levels would eliminate this algae from forming.

Kayak East coast as a company has not had any customers call re: "black algea" in the past 10 years. One of the main reasons we do not supply sand or water is because we can not control where it comes from. The sand may have been contaminated when it was delivered. Did you contact the supply company where you purchased the sand from??? Did you report that company in your "Rip off" report??? Since I am a hands on owner don't you think I would have had some contact with your situation if you called 10 times. I apologize for the delay in the response but I don't review this site on a regular basis based on the fact that we do not rip customers off!!! If your problem still exists call our office and I will set up a service call to see what the actual problem is.
