The perpetrator filed this ad on Craigslist, advertising an available ticket for the Blackhawks-Flyers Game 5 in Chicago.

After responding from the email address '[email protected]', the perp requested a phone call to 815-549-1809 to negotiate price, meeting point, and method of payment.  The perp, who said his name was 'Ryan' and was driving up from Champaign, IL insisted on using 'MoneyPak' because they didn't have a Paypal account.  'Ryan' would accept a downpayment on the ticket through MoneyPak, and then the rest in cash at the stadium.  The agreed upon price was $180, with $50 payable via 'MoneyPak' and the rest payable in cash at the United Center, with the agreed upon meeting place being the Billy Goat Tavern.  Payment via 'MoneyPak' requires the purchase of the card for a set amount ($50 in this case), then using the scratch-off number on the back of the card to transfer the money to the recipient.  The number on the back of the card is 7162-4623-0518-46.

'Ryan' failed to show up for the transaction, did not answer the phone, and did not respond to text messages.  The user finally responded after midnight that evening, saying that they didn't make it to the game and would refund the $50.  Since then, there has been no response to phone calls, emails, or text messages.  An initial search on the phone number came up empty, indicating it was likely a temporary phone purchased at a gas station or similar.  'MoneyPak' customer service will not issue details of the account the money was transferred to unless subpoenaed by law enforcement, and will not refund the money.

After responding from the email address (((Redacted))), the perp requested a phone call to (((Redacted))) to negotiate price, meeting point, and method of payment.

Since then, there has been no response to phone calls, emails, or text messages.  An initial search on the phone number came up empty, indicating it was likely a temporary phone purchased at a gas station or similar.  The number is now subsequently no longer in service.  'MoneyPak' customer service will not issue details of the account the money was transferred to unless subpoenaed by law enforcement, and will not refund the money.
