Excellent Service 5 Star Rating - World class

Edit Review? By Bobbie M.

AP not only found me the perfect job but one exactly as I requested. Close to home, pay accustomed to, days & hours requested. After going through Kelly Services only time to ever use a temp agency I was very apprehensive to ever use a temp service again, it was the worst experience of my life. After applying for a position on line it turned out to be AP another temp agency. I am very happy I went for it they are awesome and very professional.

Kelly Service paid me very low, I did not get check for almost a month, they would not return my calls, the job was downtown at M&T Bank, had to pay for parking, did not get insurance as told I would, It did not turn into full time after 6 months as they said it would as a matter a fact my first day I found out people that had been there over 10 years were being laid off after training temps and foreigners. I called begging them to get me out of there the manager hollered at staff every day. I found another job permanent and left after a year I was recently laid off and Kelly's came out of no where threatening me and had my unemployment interrupted by stating I refused a position at M&T and some tax company which was not true I simply refused to update my personal Info with them because I did not intend on seeking employment through such an unprofessional company. The only thing Kelly's has going for them is there name, Kelly Girls sounds cute and the years they have been in business. Maybe at one time they were good???

Kelly Protests Unemployment benefits

#2Consumer Comment

Hi, I sympathize with you - its just the wrong time for any company to protest unemployment benefits when the economy has tanked. I had a long history with Kelly and in all fairness I was sent to their best clients, great pay and had several excellent Kelly account reps from different divisions to work through. I also filed for unemployment benefits weeks later, after it was clear their clients did not have the available contract work for Kelly. I also learned they, like other agencies, lost a huge percentage of their professional, clerical and light industrial available jobs due to the economy. That is one key why your benefits are being protested, they the temp firm has to pay a portion of the benefits by law and without $ coming its coming out of their pocket not that you have refused work. The laws for day labor agencies may vary from state to state, but it does allow them to protest each and every time your certify your claim until they run out of legitimate protests. It sounds like they have found a temporary way to wiggle out of paying their share of what's due you. I would suggest that filling out the requested information might be step one and then document in letter form your transition from temp worker to full-time employee for your local benefits office. Work refusal is a biggy with them in protesting benefits. You can't refuse something that was never offered to you. My benefits were continuously protested by a less than professional Kelly account rep because I showed up on their monthly cost sheet under losses for that branch office. This Kelly rep is one of the most unprofessional people I have encountered and that is a shame when there are really good people out there. You can also demand the phone number of the Regional Manager to discuss this particular branch office's tactics and escalate your concerns to the Kelly corporate headquarters in Detroit, MI. The local Kelly Services branch offices don't want you to bring these issues to branch management or Corporate. When the local reps are trash it gives an otherwise good company a bad name.
