Ken Towerys Women Beware!!!! Louisville Kentucky
I went in to have my car serviced-oil change, tires rotated, and my engine and VSC light were on the dash. I was charged a $95.97 diagnostic test and was informed that one of my ignition coils was misfiring and needed to be replaced. I was also told that if you replace one, you should replace all 6. The charge for one coil on my diagnositic sheet was listed at $192.77 and the labor $47.99. To have all 6 done with oil change was $1444.56. This did not include spark plugs which I later found out was also recommended. I asked them not to do that. Finish my oil change and I will pick up my vehicle. When I arrived, I asked for my diagnostic that listed #2 and #4 coil were misfiring. I reminded the manager that he had only said one coil. He said, "Oh, that was a mistake, its just the #4. "
I followed up with the toyota dealership the following Monday. They said I did not need to replace all of the coils, just #4 if thats what is on the diagnostic. The total cost would be $167. I contacted the manager at Ken Towerys by phone to let him know this information. I also let him know that his report should be accurate and I wanted to be clear that it was coil #4. He said yes that the first time they ran the test it said #2 but it moved to #4, whatever. It had better be correct . Ken Towery on Bardstown Rd is a ripoff. They attempt to take advantage of people who do not specialize in their field. Unfortunately, there is a wide variety of legitimate information availabble for people to do research. I will never take my car there for anything but the tires that are still under warranty. As soon as that is over, so is our relationship.
