So let me get this straight...you are a Wells Fargo client who chose to use the KeyBank ATM on the corner of 28th and Pearl to withdraw funds from your Wells Fargo account...when there is a Wells Fargo ATM located on 28th between Pearl and Canyon, not even a block away?
First of all, you should have made the effort to walk half a block to the Wells Fargo ATM to withdraw your money to avoid a fee. $4.00 for a withdrawal is sadly becoming more and more common now. I was trying to withdraw from my US Bank checking account at a Bank of America ATM in L.A. while I was on vacation, and the atm fee was $5.50!!! I cancelled the transaction, then just opted to check my balance at the ATM to see if I could use my debit card for dinner that night. After I got back home and received my statement, I see that US Bank charged me $3.00 for a "regional atm balance inquiry". Apparently it now costs $3.00 to check my balance at a non-US Bank ATM. BS!!!
Second, since you are an account holder with Wells Fargo, you need to file a dispute with THEM, not KeyBank. They can have you fill out an affidavit of loss refund you the $40 that wasn't dispensed each time, and then try to settle with KeyBank when they count the cash in the ATM and find it off from what the computer says it should be.
