I needed to remove old gas from the tank of my 1978 25' MAKO center-console. I had repowered in 2000 with twin fuel Injected Evinrude 150's. I hired Kieth's Marine on HWY 301 in Riverview Fl, to remove the gas as it had been too long and had turned in the tank. We agreed on a price around 250.00 for this service.

I dropped the boat off. They called me week later and asked if I knew WHERE the gas tank was. I thought this odd but I gave them the location and they hung up. Another couple of days passed and they called again and asked where the access panel was located. I should have picked the boat up but I gave them another chance.

After another week passed they notified me that it was done. I went to pick it up and was charged $500.00 for the service. I asked why the increase and was advised it was do to the time it took to pull the gas out through the fuel lines ans they never did find the access panel. They also charged to hours of labor at 65.00 per hour to look for it.

I put 20 gallons of fresh gas in ans tried to start each engine in turn. Neither one started. I went to a very reputable mechanic who has since diagnosed and fixed the problem.

While at Keith's the gas cap was stolen allowing 20 gallons of rain water to collect in the gas tank. When we attempted to start the engines the water was pulled through the entire system on BOTH engines. I had to replace the fuel pump on one and the injectors on the other and ALL lines and recepticles had to be disassembled and cleaned by hand. FINAL COST ( not counting the original $500.00 ) - $1200.00.

DO NOT USE KIETH'S MARINE.
