Kingsborough Community College (CUNY) owes me a college loan refund. I signed up for a college loan thru the Kingsborough Community College's Financial Aid office in the summer of 2005. I was supposed to be given 4 checks that were to be dispersed by the college's Bursars office. 1st check was fine, 2nd check was not fine - the college took a smaller half from the check due to unknown reason. As I was told by the Bursars office that there has been a mistake of some sort I was entitled to a refund, this was on November 16, 2005.

As of February 17, 2006 I have made 12 trips to the Bursars office in regards about my refund. Most of the times I was told that it is in the process, or that I should wait 2 more weeks. Today I was told that I should wait for another month (until mid March) since there are no employees that can work on my refund.

Stay away from this college since in my opinion it has a very bad "Customer Service" when it comes to payments and financial aid support. Usually when someone needs help they will go to one office to only find out that they need to go to another office. Very beaurocratic.

If I won't get my refund check by the end of March then I will complain about the Bursars office to everyone: College President, Vice President for Finance and Administartion, CUNY, Assemblyman, BBB, FTC, DCA of NY, and bunch of college review websites.

I am not kidding, I want my refund check. This is just ridiculous, if the Bursars office would really want to issue a refund then it wouldn't take more than 15 minutes to one of their employees to issue it. A lot of Kingsborough Community College employees really do nothing. Some just play cheap PC games like puzzles and eat snacks while students wait 30+ minutes in a line to find out that they are in a wrong office.

And by the way, if I don't get my refund by the end of April then I will take it to the small claims court. I am not kidding. This will be very "good" for their publicity.
