Complaint Review: Kline View Stables - Southwick Massachusetts

I do not usually file reports like this BUT this is not something I want to happen to another family or to another Horse!

Our horse is our pet and our friend, we take her care very seriously, we believed placing her in a Full Board / Full Care Facility would ensure she got the attention ( the horse) she needed, boy werent we wrong, I started working again after many years and could only go out to spend time with my horse once a week or twice a week, at first I noticed there was never any more then an inch and a 1/2 of water in her bucket/pail, I thought maybe she had been drinking alot which was unusual, because she is a slow drinker, then we started seeing her weight drop, at first we beleived it was normal winter weight loss, we started questioning the owners and always got the same answers which didnt add up, then after a bit of an argument with the owner 2 weeks ago we were shocked to see the condition of our horse, she had the same dirty 1 1/2 inches of water in her bucket, no feed and no hay,

the Hay bag/Slow feeder that was hung in her stall had been taken down and there was no hay, and on top of that, we discovered the owner and or her workers had been tying our innocent horse up INSIDE of her stall so she could not move or lay down to rest and so she could not eat or drink water, they were torturing her, she had dropped so much weight so quickly that it left me speechless and in tears, her face started to hollow out and her muscles had started to buldge where you could see pockets of fat consumed by her own body within just 2 weeks time, we demanded to know what was going on, we payed 3-4 days before our due date every month for the boarding fees, we provided extras and we were more then sociable with the owners, the owner took issue with me questioning her and took it out on my poor horse who could not do anything to defend herself, they took advantage of my horse because she is quiet, well behaved and truly a people pleaser....

You may doubt what I say and thats fine but the pics I have speak for themselves, the horror my horse was living in because of a simple disagreement, not having anything to do with the facility or our horse.

So to sum this up:

Our horse was DENIED adequate Water

Our horse was DENIED adequate feed/food

Our horse was DENIED adequate hay

Our horse was being TIED up by a rope in a corner without our knowledge or consent which is a form of torture for horses especially, it causes depression and restlessness and desease if treatment is prolonged

Our horse was DENIED sunshine and fresh air and forced to stay in side a fully barred stall which was against our contract/lease agreement as we were paying for DAILY turn outs

OUR HORSE WAS ABUSED, NEGLECTED, TORTURED AND STARVED BY SOMEONE WHO KNEW BETTER

After demanding to know what was going on, the owner did not have the courage to face us so she sent a TEXT MESSAGE stating our horse was unhappy at her facility and we needed to leave right away, so INSTEAD of answering our questions and concerns she dismissed us and this was one day after we DEMANDED to know what was going on, Watch out for this barn, sadly Im sure our horse isnt the only one being treated this way! We payed good money and we payed on time, our horse is quite and clean and sweet, there was NEVER a reason for what happened to our horse, please watch out and share this with your friends.
