Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I can only speak for myself about this company.I was hired in August of 2009.Now,according to them I was hired through the Syracuse,Ny terminal.Only to find out that all the assignments come from Carlisle,Pa terminal, including maintenance.Fine with me,but why is there a safety guy,and driver manager sitting in a terminal in Syracuse,NY with no authority?Interesting. Now the trucks. The trucks are poorly maintained. The shop in Carlisle does what it needs to do to keep the trucks on the road. This is fine, but it also means poor maintenance.Any repairs that are written up are looked over.No problem, get the trucks serviced at T/A's and Petro's.Turn that shop in Carlisle into storage for oil, antifreeze, new driver room even a bunk house for drivers, fire the mechanics and give the drivers a raise.I don't trash talk people, this is purely a professional opinion.Utilize what you have for efficiency.Knight Transportation has alot of things they advertise, but there is little to no value to it in reality. This is even true with alot of their customers as I talk to them, and is the main reason why driver moral is so low. This is a shame, this company does have to potential to be a solid place, and they have lots of drivers who want to see it work, and work hard for them,so fix the problems we all know exist and all the drivers will stay, the doors will stay open, everybody happy. My opinion is all drivers at all companies should stay where they are.If we all stay instead of quit, there won't be any openings for the new drivers, and the revenue of these companies would be effected, and they would have to work with who they have. Then all the money for recruiting would go to driver wages. The drivers would have the upper hand once again. As long as we quit every 3 months, the company see no reason to change. It would be tough in the beginning, but rest assured it would work,at least I believe so.Run legal, take back overweight loads,if they are not getting, come down with a sudden cold in the truck and only driver 80 miles a day.I talk to other drivers who work at other terminals, some issues are company wide, some are not. Then its the terminal manager. They can act as big as they can,but when the revenue of the place they are in charge of is effected, they have to answer to it,not us.This is my opinion of Knight,I will stay as long as I can afford to,or get help from other drivers in fixing this.Drive safe.God Bless.

You resigned your postion with Knight. WHY?  Did it have to do with something else maybe.  Where you going to be fired for something you forgot you did???? Lets be like Paul Harvey and give us all the "REST OF THE STORY"

All I can say is get the hell out while you can!!!!

Allen in Carlisle is a freakin joke!  He is an a*hole that has no idea what he is doing.

When you go in there for service he treats you as a second class citizen.  You are invisible!

Knight Transportation itself is a defunct organization!  It is government subsidized and that is the only reason it keeps going.

With the electronic logs that are now coming in, you will see a huge wave of drivers exiting from Knight because there is no way to make a decent living anymore!

Knight doesn't care about it's drivers....they only care about making the government happy.

I worked for Knight as  a driver for 3+ years.  During that time I averaged around $52,000 A YEAR.  I recently resigned from Knight realizing I was going to make about $39,000 this year at most.  Who can afford that kind of paycut?  Not to mention I dont need a computer telling me when I can and can;t drive.  What a freakin joke!!!!

Anyone thinking of going to Knight better think otherwise!!!

Do yourself a favor

Do yourself a favor and GET OUT WHILE YOU CAN!  Don't wait it out and think it's going to get better.

I wasted 3 years of my life at Knight thinking it would get better.

Funny thing is....I left in August of 2009...the same time you started.

I can only imagine how much worse it has gotten since then.  To be honest the first couple years with Knight weren't too bad, but when the Syracuse terminal was opened and then Brian Lewis transferred to Chicago as Terminal manager is went to crap.  Then Joey, the Carlisle shop manager died.  The guy they hired to replace him is a complete idiot! Carlisle went from being the best shop in the entire country to being the worst.

I have kept in contact with a few others, but they have ALL quit too, so I can't tell you for sure what is really going on there.  All I can say is that my friends that all left were good people and good employees.....They can't all be wrong about Knight or they would still be employed there.

I guess the only person I could give a thumbs up to at Carlisle right now would be Jose.  But unfortunately he can't do it all himself.  With all the college kid flunkies he is surrounded by he doesn't have a chance to turn it around.

Knight needs to put up some cash and get some people in the office that knows what they are doing.

Let me give you an example....Why should the safety director make $10-15 thousand a year less than a driver?  Ridiculous!  You know the old saying..."You get what you pay for."
