Koeppel Volkswagon gets me stuck with a $2815.56 bill Internet
On
Wednesday April 18th 2012 I angel almonte was involved in a car
accident on fresh pond rd two block from my home, the 104th precinct
responded to the accident (accident report #1113 tel # 7183862362)
American Auto Body 6005 flushing ave maspeth NY 11378 reported to the
accident and towed my car to their shop spoke with brian (917)5781600.
Brian assured me they would fix my vehicle so i agreed they do the work.
I reported the accident to GMAC immediately and was assisted by Patsy
Lal 18882334575 ext 35807 claim # 9411279, she had adjuster Rich Curcio
5164925219 complete the estimate and he issued me a check for the
damages I in turn passed the check to American auto body.
The body shop had a difficult time trying to get the seat belt lights to
go off and sent the vehicle to keoppel volkswagon 5701 northern blvd
wood side ny 718 728 8111 service department Andrew service manager.
keoppel figures out the problem and sends the vehicle back to American
the next day Thursday June 5th 2012 i pick up my vehicle, its goes fine
until the following day on Friday June 6th 2012 the engine light goes on
nd the car begins to shake i leave a message to American auto of what's
accruing and let them know to please call me back. i take pics of the
dashboard and video of the engine shaking... moments later im driving
and as i drive the car shuts off in a busy intersection since its after
hours i call keoppel and they instruct me to have the car towed to
keoppel vw, i spoke to Andrew the manager and I made him aware the car
was just in an accident and came from American auto body he said he was
aware of the place and it could be a vw problem so they would look at
it. I asked him should I call the insurance or American cause it could
be accident related he said sure leave them a message if you like so I
did.
keoppel gets me a rental from enterprise and lets me know they do not
know what's wrong but will continue to see what the problem is, on June
15th 2012 service manager Andrew tells me to return the rental and come
and pick up a loner since they still haven't figured out what's wrong so
I agreed they gave me a 2012 jetta. They start to communicate with
American Auto body trying to figure things out ...at this point im
calling andrew every week for follow ups but no answers. Finally on
Tuesday July 3 or 4th Andrew call me saying that the car is ready and
their is a balance of $2815.56 and i would have to get this from
American or Gmac they believed American put the wrong spring coil but
American and Gmac was trying to explain to the service supervisor
Anthony (Andrew said this is out of his hands and Anthony will take
over) that as per the invoices from American and vw it was the same part
number and name so it wasn't the wrong part but it could be defective
which would be cover under warrantee due to the fact that it was under a
month old, gmac said they were not going to pay twice for the same part
and American said they order 2 spring coils sent back one and put the
correct spring coil that was approved by Gmac (which was the same exact
part vw put in) At this point no one is agreeing so I involve my broker
Christina from Regal agency 7187461777 to please help me with this
problem. they tried but to no avail. I get Anthony from vw, rich from
Gmac and Brian from American auto on a three way convo to try to resolve
the problem but it escalade to anthony not understanding when i asked
him why did you get involved and fixed the car without any consent i
waited for to know what's wrong to see what i should had done go with
the insurance take it back to amrican because i should not pay for this
repair this lease is under 11 thousand mile it should be cover under
warrantee and gmac is telling you the part is under warrantee. Anthony
becomes more upset with my questions and tells me would i send my kids
to someone who's abusing them or would i take care of them ...I'm like
what are you talking about this has nothing to do with kids its an
object (we are three way at this point) he continues yelling and tells
me im tire of going back an forth you have a balance of 2815.56 bring me
payment and bring me my loner i will begin to charge you $35 a day
starting Friday for everyday you keep my car and hung up the phone.
on july 11th i wrote a check for $2815.56 (check #109) and called Andrew
asked to have my car ready and i will get a lawyer, Vw has taken
advantage of me i will report you guys to the better business bureu. At
this point Gmac and American tells me the only way i can get my money
back is by suing vw.
At this point I am asking for advice on what my next step should be.
