You did not mention which credit card. Was it with GE Money? They will never correct mistakes they make to your account. They also lost 650,000 customer records in Oct. 2007, they did not publicy announce it until Jan 08 and did not make an honest effort to inform account holders of the potential for identity theft. They claim to have located the missing data tape and they also claim it was not accessed. But they also believe their customers are STUPID! Too many people know how to access that data without leaving a trace. You can file complaints against the credit card company regardless if who owns the account with the Federal Trade Commission and Office of Thrift Supervision As for the collection agency issues - go to www.budhibbs.com and learn how to fight back against this illegal collection activity.

Because since they have a judgment, they can force you to come to court and tell them your banking information so they can get money from your checking account. (all of it until the debt is paid in full). And if you don't go to court to tell them that they can get the judge to put a warrant out for you to appear. Unfortunately calling the credit card company to dispute an item wasn't the right way to handle it, as there are guidelines in federal law that the credit card companies have to follow in regards to disputed items... In regards to payments being smaller - since they have a judgment, and the judgment is accruing interest, if you make too small of a payment, you will see the amt of the judgment just grow over time.... I would look for a local legal aid society to discuss this matter with.
