Complaint Review: Kristian Ward - Internet

After many many discussions with Kristian, I finally get the payment from him. I understand that not everyone always has a smooth career path especially in such a depressed economic climate. Kristian was just in a difficult time last year. Since we also had some misunderstandings and miscommunications between us so that I thought he ran away but he did not. He worked very hard to get this issue resolved. I really appreciate his effort. He did NOT fail me at the end. Best wishes to his future and business. 

Just an update.

I just cannot believe how difficult it is for me to collect the money from Kristian Ward. I am really puzzling how he can be a business person and an entrepreneur to get clients and business. He told me he did not have money again (Who knows?) and he said that he was waiting for a cheque from his client and the amount is realtively big. He continued to told me that the bank needs days to clear up the cheque so that I need to wait for him again. He told me this on May 3 and now it is May 29 already. A week ago, I asked him if he sent me the money or not and he told me he would get back to me once he was back to his hotel (he said he was having a meeting with a client in US). Okay then. I wait for him again and another week has already passed.

Same again, no email, no phone number no reply and of course no money. He does not have any trustworthiness at all.

Fortunately the money he owes me is not a lot but still I have to get them back because I did a great job for him.

Man, It's been a year and I only collect $75 dollars. Poor me.

Dear friends and designers, please don't trust this guy and I know that one of his vendor also had this terrible experience in the past and the money Kristian Ward owed him was a lot more than mine.

Kristian Ward, you should not be in business especially in this online marketing.

After the first payment, I thought he would pay me some money monthly. Unfortunately he did not. Basically, if I had not emailed him, he just totally ignored me. I sent him emails to remind him but he STILL kept saying, "stay tune," "soon," and "I will". He also told me how he worked hard to get business and had no extra money to pay for the outstanding
balance. Not even $30 dollars? Who is going to believe you? But I was.

Thus, I gave him one more month. One month later, I asked him about the payment, he kept saying the same thing.

When I told him if he had not paid me the minimum, I would have updated the report and then he responded me with some foul language, "Go fxxx yourself."

I know that exposing a name to the public, especially in marketing industry, is really harmful to him so that I withheld this action and hoped that he would pay. But he gave me false promises so many times and said that he did not have $25 dollars to spare to me.

However, interestingly he does have money for a ticket of a social marketing conference which costs him at least $599; he had money for Raptors Game; he also had money for McCafe every morning; he just did not have any intention to clear
the balance. (I got this information from his tweets).

Two weeks ago, he did reply to me and he said that he got some money from a client and will send me the money. Nothing happened. And then I asked him again, and he said, "I'm home sick with the flu;
I have my deposit money and ill send when I'm well" One week later, nothing happened.

After all these, I really know that Kristian Ward is not a trustworthy person and I really cannot recommend Kristian Ward to anyone. You should stay away from Kristian Ward. Of course it is your choice if you want to do business with this person.

A quick update: After many rounds of emails, Kristian finally took an action and sent me the first payment. It is still a long run but at least he took his first step; and I appreciate that.

But again, a friendly reminder for other designers, please take a deposit first and then do the work for your clients. Also, I am feeling that everyone has his/her difficult time; probably this is what Kristian is going through right now. 

I have been in contact and have made provisions to close and resolve this matter.

In Linkedin, Kristian Ward has more than 500 connection and it seems that someone also endorse his marketing still. However, in the past 8 months, I had a very bad experience with him. In short, he is not an honest guy. Around a year ago, he connected me for some graphic design services for his marketing company, Ward & Co. Everything I did for him is out of trust. Constantly he requested some urgent projects and I did it for him right away. I even wrote him a visual identity draft for him to pitch another project for free. After I sent him invoices, he kept postponing the payment. It's been four months now; he is just not willing to pay after all these here and there graphic services. His cell phone does not work anymore; he also closes down his company. Though he promised me that he would pay but sadly, never. I really do not understand why some people still endorse him. Please stay away from this person and do not do business with him anymore.
