Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I purchased my Xbox 360 from Fred Meyers A little over 7 months ago. It was supposed to be brand new. A little over three months later it started having issues playing games and DVDs and CDs. My boyfriend said that it was probably the DVD drive that was causing the issue.I went online and printed out the repair order form and mailed it off to get fixed. One week later I got it back with a note saying that the xbox360 could not be fixed under warrenty for free due to the console being tampered with. I immeadiately called the xbox 360 company (Microsoft Corporation) and spoke with a lady for 30 minutes letting her know that I did not mess with the tamper labels and that I didnt even know where they were located.

She finally told me that they would do an investagation into the problem and she said to call back 5 days later. I did as she said and called back. I spoke with the same lady and she said that the cameras show that the xbox 360 taper labels were broken and that they could not help me. I then went onto the BBB website and filed a complaint with them regarding this issue. I got a letter from a man at Microsoft saying that he would talk with his supervisors and figure out if there was anything he could do.I recieved a letter today from him saying that they just found out that Fredmeyers is most likely selling refurbished xbox 360s as brand new xbox 360s. I refiled with the BBB and now im waiting to see what will happen.I just want people to know what a crappy company Microsoft is as well as Fredmeyers.

I'm no big fan of Microsoft but what do you think they did wrong here?

It sounds like they did some research and told you what happened. What else could they do?

I've heard this type of complaint a million times about a million stores.

Sorry this happened to you, but in the future, if you're buying high-end electronics, make sure the company seal hasn't been broken, or if there's no seal, have the store open the box to make sure the items are there and intact.
