Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I purchased a new 2016 Winnebago Vista XL 35B from La Mesa RV in Feb. 2016.  The entire sales process went great.  I was told that it would take a week to prepare my new coach for delivery and during that time they would clean it, check everything, add paint protection and give it a fresh alignment.  At delivery they would go over the coach with me step by step and ensure that everything was perfect and that I knew how to operate all the equipment.  I was very happy with my purchase.  That would change dramatically over the next year.

When I arrived to take delivery, I was introduced to a disheveled gentleman that rapidly ran through a checklist of items and was clearly more interested in getting this processes over with than ensuring my understanding or satisfaction.  To be fair, my experience wasn’t “horrible”, but it fell far short of my expectations.

During my first road trip I identified several small issues with the RV (standard with all new coaches, just like moving into a new house).  I took the coach back to La Mesa for the warranty repairs and this is where everything begins to unravel.   Since the original purchase I have taken my coach to La Mesa for fairly minor warranty repairs and service numerous times.  On every single occasion repairs were either done incorrectly or not at all.  To be clear, when I say “not at all”, I mean that the signed service order stated that a repair was completed when in fact it was not even touched.  They lied!  This was not a “one time mistake”, it happened several times.  Incompetence or lack of integrity?  You decide.  La Mesa also damaged my coach twice and refused to admit it (photos attached).  First they damaged the inside of an external compartment door that they had no in in the first place.  They denied responsibility for the damage initially.  Then I showed them a tool that I found inside the compartment that clearly belonged to La Mesa.  They begrudgingly patched the hole in the door but refused to replace the door and refused to admit fault stating they were only doing the repair as a courtesy!  On a separate visit they nearly destroyed the carpet with filthy boots.  They cleaned the carpet but the stain came back within a week. They refused to replace or do anything further.  Ultimately I had to get a professional to get it cleaned.

The final straw came when, while on a trip, over 900 miles from home, I noticed the two front tires wearing out at an alarming rate.  In less than 5000 miles after purchase the outer edges on the front tire were completely bald with cords showing through.  I contacted La Mesa and they referred me to their closest preferred tire shop.  The shop told me that the coach was extremely out of alignment.  I told them that it was aligned at delivery (less than 5k miles), I was the only driver and to my knowledge I had not hit anything or even driven on any suspect roads that should have affected the alignment.  They indicated there was no visible damage to any parts and that in their professional opinion the RV had not been aligned properly, if at all.   $1200.00 later I am back on the road with a new alignment and two new front tires.    I shared this information with La Mesa and Winnebago.  Winnebago confirmed that they recommend all coaches be aligned by the dealers prior to delivery.   My La Mesa salesman confirmed the he did in fact tell me the coach would get a fresh alignment before delivery, that he was taught to tell all his customers that, AND that he believed it was in fact true.  La Mesa stated that they did NOT align my coach prior to delivery and that I never expressly requested them to do so.  They said they investigated my claim that I was told it would be aligned but that, “the investigation was inconclusive”.  They again refuse to accept any responsibility and will not reimburse a dime of my expense.   Be honest with yourself, if you bought a brand new RV from a reputable dealership would you think that you needed an independent mechanic to check it over before you drove off?   If you buy from La Mesa RV that is exactly what you should expect.

Rod  I hope you find what I’ve posted here extremely informative please I’m asking you very kindly to post your thoughts on what I posted for you and everybody else in the RV industry just thinking about buying a motorhome    Pay VERY  Close attention to what I’ve posted below about inside information about the LP gas expansion rate  I bet you are the technician doesn’t know this knowledge.  Lawyers who have cases they are working on that received inside knowledge from me are greatly appreciative of what I do for them  to help them resolve issues of RV fire victims

NOW GET BUSY AND READ Every WORD I️ HAVE POSTED FOR YOU.......

When  it comes to protecting people who like to buy motorhomes or or thinking about buying a motorhome here’s what I put up for you To READ.

Yes it’s long but it’s very informative  I offer my knowledge to any lawyer who is pursuing a lawsuit against any RV dealership across the country and I provide my mileage to these attorneys absolutely free.   I do this because I’m hoping that one day I will find a RV dealer that does everything to protect the consumer and also helps educate anybody that’s planning on buying an RV of standards that should be alive at all RV dealerships nationwide

When you read this you will learn how explosive LP Gas really is.  This is inside information that no RV dealership whatever tell a customer because they don’t do enough homework to understand it completely themselves most of the time in many cases it’s all about the sale get rid of this piece of crap and let’s move to the next one.   You would think that an RV dealership would do a complete predelivery inspection of any motorhome they plan on putting on their lot for sale to make sure everything works before a customer gets to walk inside and consider buying it.

Any person planning on buying a motorhome should get a first class first impression that’s absolutely awesome just walking through it or after the purchase it should be perfect everything should work fine but no the industry has what they call a shakedown cruise that means you get to go in around all over the country And YOU FIND ALL OF THE PROBLEMS  and jot them down all along no pad and bring it to your local RV dealer for warranty repairs because many RV dealerships do not want to pay their service technicians to do a complete walk-through and make sure that the predelivery inspection checklist has been thoroughly completed but they don’t wanna do that because it cost money

And also do some research about

senator Mike Monroney  law 1958   He was a great senator he passed floor back in 1958 called THE MONRONEY LAW. Link below will take you to the information about that particular law that was passed back in 1958 it’s about the MSRP‘s it does not apply to motorhomes so when you buy brand new motorhome what kind of window sticker are you really looking at

http://enacademic.com/dic.nsf/enwiki/807872

If any lawyer has a case that they were working on against an RV dealership and they need some  inside information about the RV industry I am your guy just contact the editor Rip Off Report and ask for information regarding the RV expert witness prove that you are a lawyer and then I will provide you with the inside information at no cost   I do this because I want people who have issues about the RV industry and their lawyers do have a fair shot at winning their case at no cost from me

Now let’s move onto some inside information about the RV industry that all people who plan to buy a motorhome or people who currently own a motorhome should read top to bottom now get ready get yourself something to drink and sit down to review all of the information below if you are not a idiot .......

Information for all RV owners or people who are thinking about buying a RV

I’m sorry for your troubles and I want to post some helpful information for you and many other RV buyers. Several years ago I own a RV repair business and I got so many complaints of people buying brand new motor homes and have had so much troubles with defective components  and this should never happen especially on a brand new motorhome.

There are so many RV dealerships that sell brand new motor homes that refused to do any pre-delivery inspections before they place these motorhomes on the lot for sale.  I personally believe that many of these RV dealerships refuse to do these predelivery inspection because they do not want to pay their staff to do it.  Instead they would rather you buy the motorhome and bring it back and activate a warranty claim then the RV dealership gets paid to do the work.

I offer my services to attorneys that represent RV buyers at no cost to show them what to look for when they activate a lawsuit against any RV dealership of their choice .

One of the most important things that should be checked out on a brand new motorhome is the LP gas system and let me explain how explosive propane really is

Most RV technicians do not understand the expansion rate of propane here are the facts

If you have 1 gallon of propane in the tank it’s in a liquid form under pressure inside of the tank if that 1 gallon of liquid propane is released into the atmosphere because of a leak that one liquid gallon will expand a 270 gallons of explosive vapor.

1.  5 gallons of propane is equal to  1350 gallons of explosive vapor

2.  25 gallons of propane is equal to 6750 gallons of explosive vapor

3. 50 gallons of propane in the tank is equal to 13,500 gallons of explosive vapor.

Now I am sure that you would like to know if you buy it brand new or used motorhome you want to know if the LP gas system leaks or not.  Ask your favorite RV dealership if they can show you the predelivery inspection documentation or the motorhome that you purchased and ask them to show you that leak down test results before you buy a motorhome never after you sign a contract.

If they can’t provide you with this kind of documentation you need to get up and walk out and refused to part with your money.  When you buy a brand new motorhome you want the experience of enjoying a brand new motor home without any troubles, just like for the most part when you buy a new car.

A law firm in my past hired me to go up against one of the biggest RV dealerships in the country and I proved that the dealership was submitting fraudulent documents with Gord signatures on a predelivery inspection report. I prove to the judge that the document and forge signatures and a proper predelivery inspection was never done on the motorhome and after evaluating the motorhome which was a brand new motorhome I documented 27 pages of repairs  that the motorhome need it I made a believer out of the court that the motorhome should’ve never been on the market for sale until after everything was fixed not after he was sold.

Remember you can’t get any TV station or News Reporter Politician Reviews to do any stories on fraudulent misrepresentation RV sales because they get a lot of money from RV dealerships in the form of advertising money.

Every RV fire should always go to Rip Off Report and read the reports that have been posted over the years before you go to any dealership of your choice.

Now I encourage you to go to RipOffReport.com  on the homepage just a little ways down on the right-hand side you will see Rip Off Report live.

Go to that page and scroll down a little bit on the right-hand side once again and look at the black audio player and listen to the very top number one show  listen to it completely that’s me  reveaking scams in the RV industry.  Listen to that show a couple of times the second show was me talking about scams in the automotive industry.  Any law firm who knows what they’re doing when it comes to RV dealership cases that’s worth a grain of salt  would agree with everything that I say.

Please do your homework before you part within leave your money please continue to read some of this information that I’m going to post below  this is a predelivery inspection check sheet list that RV dealership should be using but they don’t because they don’t want to pay for it.

BEST REGUARDS YOUR RV BUYER ADVOCATE....

The most important functions of an RV are not listed on their list.  Items like the

1. LP gas furnace does it leak LP GAS ?

2.  The LP gas hot water heater.

3.  The LP gas stove.

4.  The LP gas refrigerator.

5.  The ammonia gas system in the refrigerator  does it leak ?

6.  The power supply converting 110 V AC over to 12 V DC.

7.  The complete plumbing system does it leak ?

8.  Does the plumbing system have a water pressure regulator

9.  The sewage system the black water and the graywater tanks do they leak ?

10.  All of the 12 V system batteries ?  Are they holding a charge

11.  Does the complete electrical system on the 12 V DC side have any battery drains ?

12.  The air conditioning systems the dash AC and the roof AC do they work properly.

13.  Does the roof AC unit look like it's properly secured to the roof where it will not leak water when it rains ?

14.  Does the shower or the toilet leak water underneath that wood rot the wood out under Neath the shower or the toilet ?

15.   The water pump for the RV aspect of the motorhome does it leak it does it  maintain normal operating pressure ?

16.  Does any aspect of the RV have rotten wood ?

17.  Does the LP gas system have leaks anywhere throughout the system ?

18  does the LP gas regulator maintain a normal operating pressure without league downs ?

19  does the RV come with all of the owners manuals  for safe and normal operation knowledge ?

20  does the RV have leveling jacks to do the work without hydraulic leaks?

21  has the LP gas furnace been checked for any carbon oxide leaks ?  Which can be deadly if not check properly ....

22.  When driving the motorhome does the  motorhome engine charge the RV batteries properly ?

23.  Does the motorhome have slide outs and are they properly aligned so they do not create drag to wear out the electric motors ?  I could make this list five times longer.

I could go on for days when it comes to RVs and complete system checks.  If someone's only going to charge you a couple of hundred dollars for a complete system check on the motorhome they are an idiot because they don't know what they're doing they don't know the complete systems of a motorhome you cannot take a RV to an automotive shop and have it checked out it's completely different then a car or a pick up truck or a little minivan.

Whoever created this business model has no clue what they're doing.   I feel their business model is to refer you to local automotive shops to have your cars and vans and pick up trucks checked out and they are the middleman to make money on work they've never done.  The above is my opinion.

When a RV dealership does not perform an LP gas system leak check is that a safe situation for the consumer or a unsafe situation for the consumer ??

Now after reading all of this please post your thoughts remember what kind of predelivery inspection checklist did you get to see before or after you bought your motorhome ?????

I’m sure that there are a lot of RV dealerships don’t want me to talk to you ....

I hope that you find what I’ve posted here extremely informative and remember the Monroney LAW  does not apply to motorhomes ..

Please post your comments tell me how informative this posting is to you if you believe that you have a family member that’s thinking about buying a motorhome new or used please email them this Rip Off Report and have them re-view my posting here  share this report with your friends so they get to read what I post I do it because I want to be helpful.    I worked in an RV dealership as an RV repair technician and I worked very hard to make sure that any  motorhome that was placed on the walk for sale was thoroughly checked out because I didn’t want anybody to die from an LP gas leak that somebody refused to find before they place the motorhome on the lock for sale

Remember LP gas is extremely explosive

I do hope that you find what I’ve posted here extremely informative Rod
