I signed up for LA Weight Loss on June 15 and decided June 20 I wanted to leave the program.

June 21: sent the following email to Customer Service

-As of yesterday I'm no longer a client of LA weight loss, I would like my $273 membership cost returned. I was not satified with your company. One of the reasons that I left was your employees don't follow the contract that I signed concerning the LA Lite Bars. Plus I felt like I was being pushed into purchasing items that I didn't want. If you would like more information I would be more than happy to provide them.

June 21: I received the following email from Customer Service. As of July 3 I am still waiting for the call.

-Thanks so much for your email. I wanted to inform you that I will be forwarding your email request to the appropriate supervisors for review. A supervisor will be in contact with you within the next 72 hours to address any questions or concerns that you might have.

June 27: I sent the following email, and still have not heard for anyone.

-My experience at the Toledo LA Weight Loss center was horrible. I have better experience and less presser from a car salesman. My mother is using LA Weight Loss in Indiana and has had great success, that is why I went to the center near my house. I would like my membership cost of $273 refunded. Here are the problems that I had.

1) The contract that I sign was NOT followed. It stated that "LA Lites cost $29.00 per week if purchased on a weekly basis. The cost will be less if you purchase LA Lites in advance by bulk." Unless I am reading this wrong I can purchase 1 box a week for $29.00, but I was forced into taking buying in bulk and taking home 12 boxes. When the bulk packaging prices were presented to me, my only option was bulk, not the 1 box per week. I even made a comment about the price of the bars, and she never said that I could just purchase them weekly. The woman at the Toledo center said I had to take 12 boxes at first, then 5 boxes after that and this policy came down from corporate. But when I talked my mother she talked to her center in Indiana and they said that 12 boxes is not true. Whatever your policy is you need to make your contract match.

2) I signed up with your company on a Friday and decided on Wednesday that I didn't like how I was treated, I know you have 3 day full refund policy. It all depends on how you count the days. If I was aware of the price of the LA Lite up front I would not have wasted my time.

3) When purchasing the LA Lites I signed up for the GE Cares program, as soon as I got approval your employee kept on adding more products on my account like it was her credit. She was very pushy, I even said that I would wait but she still put it on there.

4) When I decided that I wanted to leave, it was VERY HARD. The Toledo center had to call their supervisor, Heather, and Heather wanted to meet with me but I was unable to. So we talked on the phone, but all she tried to do is try to get me to stay. Heather was not listening to what I was saying and she asked me what is the biggest things in head right now, and I told her selling my house and my children, but she still kept on pushing. When she finally said that she would take the items back she had to call HER supervisor. If you are going to employ people than you are going to have to empower them to make decisions.

July 2: I have sent the following email

-Chrissy I still have not heard from you or a supervisor. I am now going to take this up with corporate. This is a perfect demonstration of LA Weight Loss poor customer service.

July 4: I contacted the Better Business Bureau for help, LA Weight Loss has never gotten back to them.

August 2: I sent a letter to the executives of LA Weight Loss, as of September 4, I have not heard from them. I will send them a letter every month until I get my money back.

August 20: Received and email from the Better Business Bureau, they can't do anything further because the company will not contact them. And my best bet is to hire a lawyer.

Kristen, If you haven't heard, LA Weight Loss just closed down all Ohio stores. Have you contact the Attorney General's office yet? If not, please do. I would like to get a list of clients in the Toledo and Ohio area and see if we can get a class action suit. What do you think?
