I too have been scanned by Lady of America/National Fitness! Since the beginning of my membership it has been a nightmare! I had tried to call in several times to report the LOUD music that actually gave me headaches (I eventually could only go to the gym between the hours of 11 am until 2:30 pm), while the morning manager was there. As soon as she left the girls there would blast music with vulger words and as loud as the stereo would play. Since the first message I left, (and I left quite a few) I had never been called back about this problem. Eventually I and a few others stopped going. We all continued to pay our dues because we had to. Another time, in the beginning

I had entered a contest where the First prize was $75.00..I won but was given a simple prize instead. I should have realized then that there might be more dishonesty ahead.

One-year-and-a-half later I moved from Puerto Rico back to Oregon. At least 2 months before I even bought my plane ticket I contacted the Member Service Department (with difficulty) in Utah to ask about my doctors recommendation that I stop exercising. I was told to pick up a form at the gym where I orginally began the program. I did and had it filled out and when I went back I was told that the manager that had given me the form was no longer with the company and I could not use the form that I had. I was told to go online or call the 800 number. I mistakenly did not ask for the form back and left. I forgot about it fio a couple of weeks because I was packing and needed to see my doctor the next month.

When I did get a copy faxed to me it was exactly the same one that I had before! Another payment for them. I called and complained to the head office and was told numerous times that I would be called back, or the person that I needed to be spoken to was not there and other such stuff. Finally I found a place to fax the signed Disability Claim Form, only to be told just before my next payment due (24 hours) that they hadn't received it. I kept the fax sent copy to prove that I had and then I talked to a person on the phone that confidentually told me that where they receive the print out from the fax a person goes in every 20 t0 30 minutes or so and they... disappear. Hmmmm

The person that promised me that he would be sending me the blank claim form ASAP (within minutes) never did so either.

When I was told that they had finally received everything and reassured me that the $50.00 cancellation fee would be waived and that I would not have to pay the following month I assumed that we were finished. That was before I flew out of Puerto Rico (Aug 16,2007. Now, today (Oct 30, 2007) I received in my mail a notice to pay the remainder to a collection agency. (A 3 year contract). Now I am going to fight them! I have caused damage to myself from not being properly taught how to use their equipment ( they are not legally liable) by doing this report. contacting the Better Business Bureau, Consumer Affairs and whomever else I can. My credit will be ruined I suppose but I will NOT pay this. The company that buys up these claims will just have to bite the big one.

I Will Not Pay This! Lady of America/National Fitness had the gall to question my doctors credentials also. I will keep my fingers crossed that a lawyer firm will take on our cases. Ladies stand up for our rights as honest people! We cannot let them do this!
