My wife, friend, and 3 children went to eat at the Lakeshore Lunch. It has a takeout also, which is where they went so they could eat outside.

When the storm came they took the food inside to eat because it was raining. Believed to be the owner that came out from the kitchen said that they couldn't eat there because they had purchased takeout. He said that he needed those tables for the customers that were coming inside to eat.

So my wifes friend said well, what do you want me to do? He replied, that they took it else where.

They said that the man stood over them until they left. Believed to be the owner.

Take EVERYTHING Peter says with a grain of salt. HE made a report here (ripoff report #197356) complaining about how Pigly Wigly would NOT let him pay for a meal consisting of Lobster, filet mignon, shrimp and fine wine, with FOOD STAMPS. This man states that he lives in PONY, ALABAMA. one problem, there is NO SUCH PLACE as PONY, ALABAMA. Sorry Pete.

This young lady and her friend had every right to come on in and enjoy their meal even if it was raining or not and even if they had it to go. They purchased their meals there its not like they were bringing in McDonalds. They by all means is still considered customers and they are the ones who are paying these peoples salaries. As far as the gentlemen is concerned he was probably just the cook trying to be a big man.

Answers to the rebuttals. They offered to pay a tip and it was nice out side to sit at their tables. The storm came up quick with fierce lightning and wind.

Although I do understand about the thunderstorm and having to come inside due to that. What type of place is this? Do they have wait staff and full service at their tables inside? If so then I can understand some of the owner's standpoint. They would be taking the table from one of the waitstaff who would probably be very upset over that because tips are their livelyhood. I do also understand about the storm, but at the same time look at it this way. You decided to order Chili's To Go and have a picnic in the park across the street, it starts raining would you expect to go into the Chili's sit down at a table and eat?

What an assinine comment Peter. They were well within their rights to go inside and eat food that they purchased at the resturaunt. It's not like they were eating sack lunches brought from home. The manager on the other hand, was dead wrong. They bought food at his place of business, they should be able to eat it there as well. And, to answer your idiotic question about the rain, yes, it's very feasable to be sitting in the sunshine one minute, and literally be caught in a thunderstorm 2 minutes later. It happens all the time.

I can see the manager's point. After all, one would not bring a bag of "take out" into a sit-down restaurant and expect to use the area as their personal dining room free of charge. Not only is it bad business for the restaurant, but do the paying patrons really want to see people eating out of paper sacks while they are trying to enjoy their dining experience? Surely it did not rain all of a sudden with no warning. Why did your wife decide to order "take out" and eat outside if there were rain clouds in the sky? Was she just using this as an excuse to avoid full service and not have to pay a tip? May I suggest that the next time your wife orders "take out," she actually take it out -- after all, it is not called "take in."
