Lasershift, Inc. / Coreharbor - Mismanaged & misleading employees
I was hired by a consulting company called Lasershift, Inc. located in Norcross, GA.
They had a client in Broomfield, Colo. I am a project manager & was hired here in Broomfield to consult them in project management skills. Due to the economy, the client company began doing poorly & laid off all the contractors & consultants. Subsequently, Lasershift, Inc. also went out of business. The parent company of Lasershift, Inc. was Coreharbor - also located in Norcross, GA. Lasershift management began misleading us immediatly on the amount of work they had acquired in the area. Then when this client laid us off, come to find out - Lasershift didn't have any other work - anywhere in the country, and there for "went under".
But, I have a signed seperation agreement from the Chief Operating Officer stating that we were Full Time Employees up to June 4th, 2001 AND that all "Authorized Deductions" were being withheld through June 4th and all coverages (Insurance) would continue through that date.
So I took my son to the dentist on June 1st. Come to find out, after receiving a bill from the Dental Provider & a statement from the insurance provider, that Lasershift management had discontinued our insurance as of June 1st - without informing us!!!
Now the parent company (Coreharbor - who also owns CipherTrust) is also refusing to honor the "Signed Agreement" that states deductions were withheld & that we were covered. The parent company (Coreharbor) is also refusing to answer any of my e-mail correspondance about this situation.
It is not alot of money - about $220 - but it is the principle of the thing that management was misleading us at every bend & bailed out & left us hanging out at the tail end. And now the parent company - who was responsible for hiring the management is also backing out. The owner of this parent company has been written about in Atlanta newspapers as this very, very successful business entrepraneur worth millions - yet they can't cover a $220 dental bill - that the management they hired - committed too!!!!! I just want taken care of what I was told would be taken care of.
