So far, Lauren Rossovich of Chow Chow Rescue (of the Sierra Foothills) has ripped of 13 people for money that they paid for dogs. Here are people who are trying to help out by adopting a homeless animal and Lauren (and Tim) Rossovich steal from them. This is one of the most heartbreaking things that I have seen. Children are being affected by this tradgedy as well.

When a child thinks that they are getting a dog and their parents pay $250 for the animal, Lauren tells them that they have to wait a couple days until the animal is spayed or neutered, then Lauren doesn't call them back and won't give the animal to them. She does this over and over, padding her pocketbook with stolen money from poor unsuspecting victims. It is just horrible.

Surely there is someone out there who cares enough about animals to stop this from happening. So far, noone has helped. I am very sad about this. The Rossovich's come from money, so I have a hard time understanding why they would even do this. Alcohol may be a factor in their lack of good judgement.

Also, I thought it was a little strange that Lauren said she was taking dogs down to San Diego to a foster home and then the foster parents said that she never showed up with the dogs. Two dogs have gone so far and now three more are going today. Then I thought about it..... What if Lauren was taking these animals to UC Davis, to sell them for cash? I know for a fact that Lauren doesn't care about any of the dogs at our facility, so why wouldn't she get rid of them that way? All she wants to do is bring in more dogs all the time. Her and Karl Cobler are both dishonest and theat scares me...

One of the volunteers quit and then another and then another..... After this last one leaves, it will all be over, the whole Chow Chow Rescue business that is. It is a business just so you know. In every way, it is a business. It is a 501(c)3 corporation and is supposed to be a non-profit. Please request a financial statement from Chow Chow Rescue of the Sierra Foothills today and find out for yourself what a scam it really is.

Whatever you do, don't let rescue dogs get into the hands of scientists, wanting to perform experiments on them. No matter how much Lauren needs the money right now. It just isn't fair to the animals.

I can't believe that Tim & Lauren Rossovich are even on this website.  It is truly and injustice, if you have even met them.  They are two of the sweetest, most giving people that I have ever met.  Well, Tim is anyway...  I used to work for Chow Chow Rescue of the Sierra Foothills, about 3 years ago.  It is a long story, loaded with drama, but it all started one day, when Tim Rossovich asked my girlfriend Linda and I to live in their million dollar house, overlooking Lake Wildwood in Penn Valley.  My GF and I were looking at being homeless and Tim tried to help us by giving us a place to live.  I feel really bad that this all backfired on him like this.  He is a wonderful man and it is just sad.

Sure Tim and Lauren drink all the time and fight.  Their public fights have been observed by many, their private fights were probably the most violent though and no one really saw that but me.  Lauren Rossovich is a "button pusher" and I know for sure, that she pushes Tim's buttons, until he cannot stand it any longer and just blows up at her.  With alcohol being a factor, things usually get out of hand.  You should read the 911 reports from both of their Nevada County homes.  That being said, let's get down to the allegations that we have here.

First of all, the Rossovich's are f*****g rich and certainly don't need to be stealing money from people wanting to buy a dog.  Neither Tim, nor Lauren would EVER do this.  Whoever posted that is either lying or an idiot.  Tim was in the movies and Lauren is a spoiled b***h, the product of her rich parents.  Being a stuck up b***h is sad, but it is certainly not a crime.  In fact, let's just leave Tim completely out of this.  All he has done is put up his own money and his own effort, to take care of these animals.  He loves dogs very much and no one takes better care of them, than he does...

What Lauren Rossovich is guilty of, is cleaning out animal shelters from the entire USA and bringing all of the dogs, to the Penn Valley property that we we renting.  We started out renting, paying $1,000 a month, for this huge house, but taking care of the dogs, was part of the rent exchange.  Everything was fine, when it was only 10 dogs, but when the number grew to a staggering 27 dogs, it was just too much work and not fair for us at all.  It literally drove my girlfriend crazy and she left the Penn Valley house, with all of her belongings.

After that, I placed several ads on the Internet, looking for a roommate, who would share the responsibility of taking care of the dogs.  In that time, Lauren and her partner in crime, Karl Cobler, continued to drop dogs off at the house, in a sneaky manner, sometimes, just tying the animal to a tree and leaving before we could get downstairs to see what was going on.

Finally, I met Kathi Duran, who agreed to move into the Penn Valley house and take care of the animals together.  I didn't realize at the time that she was a total psychopath and what problems she would end up causing, so in the beginning, everything was fine.  Kathi also was an alcoholic and between her drunken nonsense and Lauren's drunken nonsense, it became too much for me to handle and I gave my notice.

Tim and Lauren begged us to stay and work things out, which we did.  For a while anyway.  The numbers dwindled to around 17 dogs and things were looking up.  Lauren's friends were telling her that she could not just clean out the animal shelters and bring the dogs to Penn Valley, but being the idiot that she is, she didn't listen to reason and kept it up, until I was extremely pissed.

Kathi or chowchowkathi as she is better known, had a plan to leave the house and take some of Lauren's chows with her.  I think that's stealing, but I'm not sure how that works.  At any rate, I was at the Vet's office one day, when Tim and Lauren showed up.  When Lauren saw me, she physically attacked me and tried to beat me up.  It was crazy, having some psycho b***h trying to claw and attack you.  Tim was yelling at her to knock it off, but she didn't listen.  Finally, I got away from her and made it home, where I told Kathi what she had done, but like the a*****e that she is, she didn't care.

Now I hear that Kathi Duran is working with Lauren again, to try and rescue dogs.  This is when a good thing goes bad.  You take a bunch of people, that should be on medication and you give them all mass quantities of alcohol and just turn them loose on the world.  Chowchowkathi is a total scam artist and a liar, so I guess that they will all figure it out.  She stole Lauren's Chows and Lauren was pissed!  Hmmmmm

Lauren Rossovich hoards dogs or collects them or however you want to say it.  She sees every animal as a $250 check and that is it.  Sure she loves animals, sure she wants to help them, but if you knew Lauren's heart, you would know that she is sick and needs help.  Please pray for Chow Chow Rescue of the Sierra Foothills.  Pray that they do what is right.  And pray for chowchowkathi, that she actually gets a soul...

Chow Chow Rescue of the Sierra Foothills in Penn Valley had 4 board members resign at the same time

Chow Chow Rescue of the Sierra Foothills in Penn Valley had four board members resign at the same time according to inside sources in January of 2008. According to this source this was because Lauren Rossovich and others in her organization declared Kasey, a Jindo Mix, unadoptable and tried to have him put to sleep by the local animal shelter. Kasey's only issue was he barked according to Lauren Rossovich at a CCRSF board meeting. Lauren Rossovich reportedly had Family Animal Hospital in Grass Valley, CA debark (a controversial operation) Kasey 3 times with no success. A Jindo is a special breed that does poorly when confined to the extremely small footage kennels (less than 3 feet X 5 feet ) and tethering cables they reportedly keep their dogs on for most of the day with no walks. Reportedly, Pam Gorman ( [email protected] ), at that time the President of CCRSF, was forced by Lauren to either pay for Kasey's boarding or take him in or Lauren would have him PTS. Apparently Pam realizing what a great dog Kasey was and that he just needed some attention and that it was wrong of a rescue to take a dog in and then have him killed because it is inconvenient, took him in. He reportedly has since found a great home in the SF Bay Area and Pam is no longer associated with CCRSF. As documented on NBC in San Diego a couple of months later a foster of CCRSF in Santee was found to have 26 dogs in squalid conditions (aka Southern California Chow Rescue and Transport). According to numerous sources CCRSF does not require any home check or verification and anyone who has cash or check can adopt a dog from them. This, and that Tim and Lauren Rossovich routinely and excessively fight and argue in public when intoxicated have also reportedly been an issue with the numerous volunteers who have left.

I adopted two dogs from Lauren Rossovich in 2007 and was treated very well

My family adopted our first dog from Lauren Rossovich's Mystery Mutts division in January 2007 from their Penn valley location. She is a Norwegian Elkhound and the best dog we have ever had. She was very healthy with complete vet records and had been recently spayed. We paid $250 and took her home with us. We were so happy with her that we adopted another dog in May 2007 from the Chow Chow rescue division at an adoption fair at the Longs in Grass Valley. He was picked up from an SPCA in southern CA by Lauren Rossovich and relocated to Nevada City for adoption. He also came with complete vet records that showed he had received vaccinations and antibiotics for an infection. The total of the vet bill amounted to more than the $250 we were charged as an adoption fee. We were also able to take the dog home with us for 2 weeks before paying the fee to make sure he got along with our other adopted dog. I received thank you noted from Lauren Rossovich after both adoptions. I will say she is difficult to reach by phone though. Thank you, Licia

Chow Chow Rescue and Lauren Rossovich are not rip-off artists

My dog Jasmine Marie died on April 11,2007 I had her for fourteen years. When her death came I missed her terribly, I decided I needed to adopt another chow chow. I searched online and laurens rescue came up. I found a dog, Juno, I called to see if he was still available for adoption, sure enough he was. Lauren and I decided I would come to her grassvalley rescue, (also her home, that is dedication) to meet Juno. That wasn't the end of our conversation, she even helped me find ways to cope with the loss of Jasmine Marie. We talked for about 45 minutes. So that week I went up to meet Juno and I instantly fell in love with him, Lauren let me know that he was possibly her favorite. She had grown very close to him, she told me stories about him and how good he always smelled. She knows and loves her dogs at the rescue and wants them to have forever homes. I let her know I had cats and she offered to see if he was good with cats, she found out he wasn't, but then offered to send him to training. I decided I would work it out somehow and that Friday I drove back up to Grassvalley and adopted Juno. He is my best friend we go everywhere together. Infact Juno, myself, and my boyfriend are in the process of adopting another dog from her. They are $250 dollars, and tax deductable. Lauren and I talk every now and then still to see how things are going, to see how juno is and talk about dos that may be a good fit for my family. From my experience Lauren would never do that and doesn't even collect the $250 until you come get your dog. She also lets you know that you can return the dog to her if it doesn't work out and she will refund you. Upon adoption herself, and the person adopting a dog sign a contract that states this, along with a care agreement that you will have the dog spayed and neutered, and you will have them micro chipped. Does that sound like a scam to you? I'm guessing these 13 families that pre-paid for their dogs, probably never went to pick them up. She can't just go and deliver the dogs to people. It is your resposnsibility to get the dogs. My parents adopted a special needs dog and she was delivered, because it would be to hard to have us transport her, so in special cases someone will bring your dog to you. Lauren has also had to deal with 13 chows that had been stolen, by god knows who for who knows what. She has also had to deal with the loss of her father, she is going through alot and is very busy and I'm sure if any of you really cared enough about getting your dogs and drove up there it would happen. SO THEY ARE NOT RIP-OFF ARTISTS! I used their buisness and have never been happier, same with my family, and I'm am beginning the process of adopting another dog, that I will GO PICK-UP. Another possible reason that some people didn't get their sogs is if they had some sort of violent history or animal abuse or dog fighting. It is against the law for those kind of people to adopt dogs. Seriously though if you people never got your dogs Lauren isn't unreasonable she would refund you if you can't come pick them up.
