I am writing regarding a refund in the amount of $225.00 that was to be credited to my account for the Los Angeles Real Estate Wealth Expo that was to have taken place on Saturday, April 08, 2006 - Sunday, April 09, 2006.

I have contacted the Learning Annex customer service email and corporate office several times regarding this matter and I am yet to receive the credit in the amount of $225.00 or even a response in over six months!

I purchased (2) tickets to this event back on Wednesday, January 18th, 2006 at 10:08 a.m. I called The Learning Annex Corporate Headquarters at (212) 371-0280 immediately after purchasing that day as I had contacted my sister who I had purchased the other ticket for and she had informed me of a wedding that was to be held that weekend. I was very impressed with the customer service that I received and although I as the consumer made a scheduling error, because I did call within an hour of ordering the tickets that day, they were willing to cancel the charge and I was told if it were to go through to call back and that it would be taken care of.

As a first time customer of the Learning Annex I was impressed with ease of this matter and the understanding of my situation and it left a very good impression on me and really made me want to do business again with The Learning Annex in the future.

I was surprised and disappointed the next day when I logged into my credit card account online on Thursday, January 19th, 2006, that in fact I was charged the $225.00 from The Leaning Annex.

During the proceeding months I made several attempts in contacting The Learning Annex in order to inquire about this charge (and very much unlike the first time I had called I was treated very poorly, once even being asked "Well, what would you like me to do about it?". I sent several emails (which I was more than happy to fax over to the Learning Annex) explaining my situation and inquiring about a the refund of $225.00 which was supposed to have been applied to my account. I did not receive ONE email response from The Learning Annex from any of the several emails that I had sent (I had even emailed President & Founder, Bill Zanker, at the email address listed on the website and still did not get a response at all.)

I very much wanted to attend this event and I admit that I am human and people make mistakes. It is not like I ordered the tickets in March or April and then cancelled, this occurred in the beginning on January and I called immediately that same day on January 18th, 2006 to explain my error and was assured by Learning Annex empoloyees that I would not be charged for this event and that if I was all I would need to do was make a phone call to them (which I did) and the refund would be processed immedietly.

It has been over 6 months I would be extremely grateful if the promised credit of $225.00 would be applied to my account that I had used when placing this order. I did not receive anything in the mail, tickets, etc...for this event and I feel that anyone in my position would feel the same if they were charged $225.00 for literally nothing. This has been going on for several months now and it has really been hard for me to have to deal with the constant stress that this situation has caused me.

Re: "Then why wasn't the refund given in the first place? Why did it take this posting? Seems like many companies just hope you'll go away if they ignore you long enough!" I'll tell you why... because they have another ripoff show coming up in San Francisco next week and a whole new boatload of suckers to rip off. It's hard to do when there are a bunch of unresolved rip-off reports floating around. These reports really do mean something - unfortunately most of the Learning Annex victims know nothing about RipOff Report. The few dollars it takes to take care of the "squeaky wheel" cases is nothing compared to the tons of cash to be scammed at the show.
