Yesterday, I received a letter fromt he store's president in response to my complaint with the BBB. Of course, the details inthe letter are completely inaccurate and one sided. Also, the writer made sure to use my name as many times as possible (note that I lefft specific names out of my report). He again blames the manufacturer for all the delays and doesn't realize that I spoke with the manufacturer myself. I did this to ensure that I wouldn't have to deal with Legacy again if there were a problem with my purchase (Thankfully, they have offered to deal with us directly). I also found out that stores, like Legacy, were instructed not to take orders for the sofabed I bought until after a certain date because the manufacturer was still workng with the model and was not prepared to start delivering. They assured me that Legacy was well aware of this but continue to place orders none-the-less. Obviously this created problems for the manufacturer and of course, none of these details were passed on to us. In his letter, my president completely glosses over the fact that we had to call them almost on a daily basis for status reports and that we had requested to cancel the order as soon as we heard it wasn't ready after the 8weeks. The manufacturer told me there would have been no problem cancelling hte order, Legacy, in their pursuit of the almighty buck, told me differently.
