On May 17, 2014, the client hired me through Elance.com to write for his company, Kendall Copywriting. We made an agreement on Elance and began work and communication through Skype. After my first week of work, I didn't receive my initial pay.
After questioning the client and asking why I hadn't received my pay. The client, Leif Kendall kept giving me the "round around" and eventually removed me from his contact list on Skype and stop communicating. By this point, I had worked more than 40 hours for the client.
This hurt me badly, financially, from all of the work and time I dedicated.

From this report being filed, I have learned that the individual I was dealing with was not who they claimed to be. They were using Leif Kendall's name as cover up of being a real company.
After learning this, I noticed that the person was spelling their last name with 1 L, instead of 2. I've talked with the real Leif Kendall and learned that he wasn't behind any of this.

The author of this complaint was indeed defrauded by an Elance user, but it was not me (Leif Kendall).
I do not use Elance, nor have I ever recruited any writers from the US (I've only ever worked with local writers).
I rarely outsource work to anyone. I write 99% of my clients' copy myself.
I have reported this matter to the police in the UK and encouraged all the victims (there were 5) to report this to their local police.
Please contact me directly if you have been approached on Elance or any other freelance marketplace (e.g. oDesk, Freelancer.com. Guru) by someone claiming to be Leif Kendall or a representative of Kendall Copywriting.
