L.G.H. Contracting Lance G. Hottinger LOST OVER $10,000. Paid more than $5,000 beyond his quote but he only completed approx. 20% of the work agreed to. Court case pending. Dunnville Ontario
COMPLETELY AVOID this scammer. There is a Court case currently pending against this fraudulent business. In early 2017, hired Lance Hottinger of L.G.H. Contracting (located in Dunnville ON, although he claimed to be located in Hamilton ON), to complete a full basement renovation at our home. It took him 2 weeks just to re-parge the basement stairwell outside. He conjured up numerous outlandish, unproven excuses for not being on the job for weeks on end. Valueable time was lost as a result. Paid him more than $5,000 beyond his quote but he only completed approx. 20% of the work then absconded; took my money & ran. Most of the work he 'did' actually do was shoddy.
AVOID. Am out of pocket more than $10,000; in fact considerably higher than that considering all my expenses involved and losses. Additionally, this scammer was extremely difficult to serve with Court documents. He deliberately avoided process serving attempts, so I had to use more creative and stealthy (yet NOT illegal) techniques to finally have him served. He never submitted a defence, so a default judgment is currently pending in an Ontario court.
