MY STORY IS IDENTICAL TO LADY'S REPORT FILED ON 7-25-07 ...
A letter was received in the mail on July 21, 2007 stating that they were pleased to inform me of the results of NORTH AMERICAN HOLIDAY TRAVEL REWARD PROMOTIONS held on July 9, 2007.
The letter went on to state I had drew the lucky numbers and consequently won the prize. It stated that I would receive the lump sum of US$45,000.00 in cash and a holiday sea cruise.
To make sure that I really believed them they sent me a cashiers' check in the amount of $2,815.25 which was sent to me to help me pay the service and insurance fees. This amount would be deducted leaving me a balance of $42,184.75 to be paid to me upon my cashing this check.
Well low and behold I decided to GOOGLE this company and nothing but hits of fraud. The letter was signed by a Irene Katz. I was told to contact Joseph Johnson or Janet Simmons at 1-902-412-2269 in order to active my claim.
The check looks like a sincere cashiers check and it is signed by a Vernon K. Charles. The check is supposedly from Commerce Bank in Harrisburg, PA.
I then called Commerce Bank and was informed that the check is fraudulent, but the bank got caught out there also, because at one point they were honoring the checks and found out at a later date that the checks were no good. So please beware. People are out there doing a lot of crazy things and this is definetly one of them.

I saw Joseph Johnson in this heading which has the word Liberty in its name. The author of this terrible thing that happened to her needs resolution since it was in 2007. I have a company that also starts with Liberty in its name. I have the name Joseph Johnson too but I'm in Tampa. I just want the author to rebut that I am the wrong person being mentioned. I'm a financial advisor and have never heard of this company. If there is another person with the same name I carry, I have regret for the author but do not want my good name hurt because of a mistake. My company was not around in 2007 and does not have the same name. I wish luck to getting this fixed, but I have zero complaints with any organization and I'm in an entirely different field Of work. We have zero complaints and will keep it that way. I believe all the complaints I read is from a man named Charles. Good luck, and I listed my # if you want to call to confirm this is not me on this report.
